Floating texture on rocks, why?

Why is the texture on the rocks floating when moving it around? I can't remember this being a thing before (I have not played much the last few updates, so this may have been a thing introduced in another update). It is kind of annoying that the texture is not fixed to the rock, but floating around as you move it. Distracting at best. What is the thought process with this?

From the looks of it, these are the same as Planet Zoos mossy rocks. Essentially it's a dynamic texture that allows for the moss to always be on top of the rock, no matter how you rotate it. The texture only moves when you move the rock; which is by design as it recalculates where the moss has to be.

It's not everyone's cup of tea; but it's pretty useful.

It seems to happen with more than just the moss rocks. Same issue with the tropical rocks for some reason. . If it is a "feature", let's add a switch to turn it on or off to freeze the texture. I find it challenging with the current design as I may want to place the rock in a certain way, including the moss (in this case), but moving it to its final position now also changes the texture. I don't want that.

Yeah I said "moss rocks" because we only had them as a moss rock in Planet Zoo. Either way, I don't think it's something you can toggle as it's entirely shader based and I don't think they can toggle shaders like that in the current engine.

The best thing you can ask for is a version with static textures as well; because this is pretty much the intended behaviour. (Not that I don't get that it can be annoying to some btw, just pointing it out that they're unlikely to change it.)
