Flying a Type-10

I cannot seem to get out of an orbiting station without having issues with the mailslot with the Type-10. I fly every other ship in the game manually (less the Beluga) with no issues. Cutter, Corvette, Anaconda and Type-9 are easy. Is the whale tail on the back causing problems?

I flew T-10 in beta and I'd line up in the center and low to the mail slot which seemed to work fine. I have not flow one in 3.0 yet.

Frankly - you're just not using enough power. With the right thrust - your Type-10 should rip a new mailslot in the station doorway, the shape of Jeremy Clarkson's ego.

Its a lot wider than an anaconda so needs the dot right in the middle of the mailslot.
Look for contrails of ships going into the space station for where you need to be. watch out for other ships coming out.
I got sick of its handling and took it to the engineers to get the thrusters sorted out and made it more responsive.
most my keys have been remapped in this release and most my ships handle differently.
even this guy lost his ship

I'm about to sell mine.

Anyone want to buy it? It is outfitted for thargy hunting. I'll give you a discount and can have everything for 700 mil!

Don't fly it like a Conda and you should be fine. I always boost out of the mail slot without issues ;)

Hi CMDR Gun Star
surely you can't do that now? I have been away from Elite for several months playing fallout 4.
my friend said you should be able to find broken down ships then sell them to other people after fixing them
there and then or towing them back to somewhere like a spaceport to fix then sell,
or keep them.

or put a posting in the suggestions and requests sections of these forums.

Haven't had any issues flying mine out of stations. Just need to stay a bit below the center for the spoiler to clear.

Full pips to shields, then if you 'touch' anything on the station you are not too badly hurt.

Fly through the middle of the slot (never mind the green side) and in the center vertically. But if you feel more comfortable, keep a little low of center because the tail does sometimes catch on the grid if you move up or down too soon, hence the pips precaution.

With the undercarriage down, the wing tips pull up vertically, so you are a little less wide, but then the legs can catch on the bottom of the grid if you are misaligned - swings and roundabouts there.

In summary, full pips to shields, landing gear up, fly through the slot center - you have priority because you are bigger than anyone else :D

Cmdr Craig was advertising them available at Hutton Orbital

Just to be certain before replying, I just tried it after upgrading my T-10 power distributor to a class 7. Went through the mail slot of an Orbis Starport without a problem, though you do (still) have to line it up in the middle and hog the slot like an NPC Beluga!

In other news, I just experienced a "first" today -- got interdicted by an NPC pirate ...in a Type-10 Defender. LOL -- suffice it to say, attempting piracy in a ship that can barely turn around inside the orbital radius of Mercury, especially when flying without turrets, is ill-advised. It did not go well for the pirate. ;-)

That is a first ! o7 commander.

It is always good to know where your cockpit is situated in relation to the ship. Helps to become aware where everything is while piloting. The T-10 has the pilot sitting more in the lower half of the ship, so you need to aim low on the mailslot. Also do not forget you're sporting a huge spoiler on the back end, which is tending to get stuck on the mailslot edge or the toaster rack. Also it is very wide and generally big. Oh, and other vessels will not make way.

I never had a problem with it. But if you can use the type 9 then a type 10 basically the same. One help is watch the video how to dock a type 9 and maybe go a hair lower then the person that did the video.
