Flying an eagle is fun!

So, tonight I decided to buy a new Eagle (my freagle is currently over 200ly away) and do some bounty hunting near the nav points. I also invested around 1mil credits in better weapons, energy distributor, FSD, shields etc etc.

WOW.

After flying for two weeks in a Cobra which also has quite a lot of upgrades, it felt like such a difference. It is just so manouverable and visceral. I didn't make a lot of money tonight, but I had so much fun flying it :)

Looking for a break from trading / exploring / mining / whatever? I can really recommend buying an Eagle, kitting it out and kill some bad guys!

I also still fly eagle, I just wish mercenary paint was available for it. I have money for a cobra, but I just can't leave my Eagle. it's my love.

Between maneuverability and the canopy you'll find yourself flying upside down relative to target often. If you have headtracking anyways. Keep it light, under min thruster tonnage always if you can.

I am mildly regretting selling off my Eagle for a Viper. The viper feels sluggish in the turns in comparison, more of an interceptor than a turning fighter. The firepower, however, well...

Yeah, the sound of it is really awesome! It sounds like it has a really hard time when you are manouvering hard compared to the Cobra. I like it :)

As I mentioned on the forums a couple months back, the afterburner ability of your engines are powered by the tortured souls of the restless. Pretty sure the eagle's power core is actually the essence of a wraith.

I'm flying the Cobra at the moment as I'm doing the jack of all trades thing, but the eagle is an awesome ship that I never tire of flying. It's very nimble!

still flying my freeagle, bounty hunting with tad bit of low level smuggling when I can't get the bounty but my target drops something valuable. At one point I bought a Viper (even got some skins for it), but it felt sluggish and guzzled fuel like there was no tomorrow. The Eagle is fast, nimble and is cheap to maintain or rebuy if something goes wrong. It *could* use some more firepower to keep bigger ships from fleeing but apart from that it's a wonderful vessel for bounty hunters.

Not sure how much cash i've sunk into my FreEagle, probably getting on for 2 million i reckon, but it's so much fun to fly. Made 150k tooling around a resource extraction site earlier, plus a 20k imperial clipper that i followed across system to use his FSD wake. That was a fun fight, even though it didn't have shields it took some beating, and a mistimed shield charge boost left me with 60% hull and extending until they recharged.

It looks great with the ignition scheme and Merc decals too...
