Newcomer / Intro Follow-on Mission Help

I'm not not a new comer, but I really don't do forums and didn't know where this belongs. Can any help me? I received a Follow-on mission that expires tomorrow around 8p EST. It was a bounty. I scanned the Nav Beacon, I used my Discovery Scanner, then cruised in a big circle for nearly 2 hours ID'ing ships. what? Help or is this just broken... Or am I just suppose to waste many hours deep into a work night awaiting this bounty to show up??? W T F !

It would help if you sent a screenshot of that missions from your transactions tab (left HUD). Follow-ups usually don't differ much from regular missions except for the payout.

Sounds like you didn't scan the Nav Beacon, despite not being a newcomer. If you had then the target would appear in blue in your nav panel. But you're not new - so you know that. No idea 🤷‍♂️
