Follow-on missions: Gone in Odyssey/Live?

(Putting this thread in the BGS section where it's most likely to be seen by people who run the most missions)

Before Odyssey came out, you would often get "follow-on" missions - when you turned in a mission for delivering cargo or assassinating a target, you would get an inbox message telling you to check the mission board because the faction has another job for you. This could happen multiple times and generally each time the rewards would get better. You could easily identify the follow-on missions because they'd have a chain symbol next to them.

As far as I can tell, after all the hundreds (likely thousands) of regular space-based missions I've done in Odyssey, this doesn't happen anymore. Except for one time before the Legacy/Live split, I ran a mission in Horizons which triggered the follow-on inbox message, and the mission did appear on the mission board when I switched back to Odyssey. So it seems the ability for them to appear is still in Odyssey/Live, it's just not being triggered when you hand in missions. I can't test this again since Legacy is now a separate universe.

Can any other big mission runners confirm/deny this?

Didn't saw any of those missions for a quite long time. I'm quite sure that there were zero of them for on-foot content, but I'm much less sure how it is for a "ships part".

I certainly haven't seen any for a while and it seems very plausible that "the Live client doesn't set them off" is the cause if other people have seen them more recently, since I've only been using the Odyssey client since it was released.

As a very active* missionrunner and running Ody-only since release, I can't remember last time I had one of these. It's sad if the chance of getting one in Ody-space is gone. Every little thing and action makes spacelife a bit more lively.

*1-3hrs per day, 6-7 days a week, where missions is a big part of my day to day play. For reference

yeh, tipoffs comes in spades sometimes :D a week back I got 7 within a few hrs of playtime. I rarely do them though. Sometimes I do, just to shake up my day

do your Tip-Off Missions work in Legacy? i tried two of them on Xbox a couple weeks back and both were bugged. first time that had happened to me.
I just delete them tbh. I used to find the follow on missions really handy for bgs work, the tip off ones take me off my territory & I'm just never that starved of something to do to follow them up.

IIRC the last update included patch notes saying the co-ordinates given in tip-offs had finally been updated for Odyssey/Live. I hope they didn't just do simple replacements which would make them all incorrect for Legacy...

that may be what happened. there was nothing at the coordinates given for either of my Tip-Off Missions.

Quite probably the case, however the coordinates for a tip off site are usually the last thing I do care about (if ever) since FSS/DSS has been introduced. Well, probably for the very first visit while registering in the database. As the rule there are no more than one "legacy" POI on the target body at the given period in case of "crashed ship site" or "unidentified wreckage". Even in case of settlements - after filtering out only those that could potentially hold a tip off end message - you'll get very finite number of settlements to check.
Anyway I haven't updated my main tip off collection spreadsheet with the recently introduced "newer" version of coordinates (but they are not always present due to the aforementioned reasons). As always note the time limit of "visibility" (1-2 weeks) for crashed ship sites.
I think that it's already two years since the last addition of an undocumented tip off related site to the collection (while I'm sure there are still at least few dozens waiting somewhere)

now that you mention it, i do remember using the FSS/DSS and no POIs came up. that's why i reverted to trying the coordinates.

I have seen the "Follow On" mission icon on Passenger missions for some reason. For normal missions I haven't really noticed. My PMF doesn't like giving donation missions often so never really have a chance to see follow on missions.

I still haven't got around to filing a bug report about this, mostly because I want to collect screenshots from Legacy to show exactly what a "follow-on" mission refers to in case they have some other internal name. But based on what I saw back before the Live/Legacy split, the follow-ons can appear in Live if the preceding missions would trigger them when handed in (which isn't happening).
