Font size or UI scale.

there really should be an option for UI scale or font size somewhere, or at least just a way to make smaller UI elements bigger.

As someone with a severe visual impediment i find a lot of the UI font to be to small to comfortably read, and i doubt i'm the only one who feels this way. The side panels are okay but a lot of the smaller elements like the target information panel, bottom panel, chat, galaxy/system map panel, etc are an exercise in frustration to gather information from. I often find myself leaning into my monitor with magnifying glass trying to read them. This typically results in me bumping into stations, asteroids, canisters, and even other ships while i'm trying to tiny UI font.

This would help a lot of people who suffer from strong near or farsightedness and especially people like me who suffer from conditions that can't be corrected effectively by glasses. I have Nystagmus (among other things that affect my vision) which is repetitive uncontrollable movement in both eyes. The condition makes it very difficult to focus on things. The best solution is typically just to make the font size bigger. While i am prescribed glasses for my condition they don't completely rectify the problem, especially for objects close up.

Just a question can a larger screen help? Also, a question have you ask your eye doctor what to do with this issue on the screen. For me, if I had that issue I would aim for a 36 to 40-inch screen.

I am severely myopic with high astigma that can't be correctly well with glasses. I have a 42 inch tv/monitor which when the game opens its fills about half the screen. I play in VR and theres no way of increasing the font sizes there either which makes seeing detail very difficult. Scaling panels etc would be real nice. Essentially being able to customizer the cockpit would be boss.

I currently have a 17" screen. sizing up to a 26" or so screen size might help a bit. though any bigger and I would be left with part of the screen out of my field of view. Actively sitting further from said screen would solve this for the normal person yes, but it can be rather uncomfortable for me. As an example i once played a game on my friends Xbox with a 40" TV. I found myself fighting with getting closer to the screen to read text, and further again so i could actually see the entire screen. Not to mention being asked to sit back so they could see if we where playing 2 player.

EDIT: I haven't asked my eye doctor about the issue no. However i was actually assigned a specialized assistant to help me learn to cope with my vision. They also helped me build a habit of asking for materials in larger print, preferential seating for presentations. Actually i think the only thing that didn't get covered in depth was computer screens. They did try a few solutions though. Like a Fresnel magnifier, which was probably the mot obnoxious thing in the world to work with. I ended up learning on my own about operating system accessibility options and UI scaling.

I might have an idea for you. It might help. You might look into TrackerIR Elite Dangerous videos. Ya, you have to use a hat or clip it to your headset. But one thing I notice is you can lean in and it zooms in that part of the screen. It did help on reading. Mix it with a larger screen might be a benefit for you.

I actually do hae a TrackIR kit that i got while ago, but with the distance i sit from my screen the zone in which i can move my head is rather tight. Ill give it a try though, as i only ever use the TrackIR kit for ArmA 3, and tend to forget it supports other games to.
