Let me start off by saying, If there are any typos in my post I apologize. For I am my phone and something I type to fast and hit the wrong letter sometimes. Also if this was discussed in another topic I apologize.
First thing, I am excited for the release coming for soon. Seems like a nice update to have bro's(and/or couples) blowing stuff up, exploring random werid things or just shooting the s**t while mining. What ever they want to do in a single ship. Me personally will be showing and helping a few buds how to play(new comers of course), how to pilot and maneuver in combat for an advantage or joining a bro of mine and maybe mess with him a bit
before getting serious an killing some baddies.
Now the food for thought.....
When Frontier announced the release date for 2.3 and show the trailers and live streams they talked about how other players can join another player ship. The talked about telepresence and what the players can do in the main players ship. So brings me to my thought. After the announcement, of course our community turned to the forums and started talking. The one thing that really stuck out to me was some people complained of should I say had a "opposite" reaction/thought of telepresence. Some said " You shouldn't teleport across the galaxy" or " You shouldn't be able to teleport cross vast distances next thing you know you be able to teleport anywhere you want". I could list a book of comments like these about the Telepresence function. Besides that it is the most viable and easiest way for players to join up to player together. It would be pointless for a player to ask his friend to help with a mission or bounty hunting who could be on the other side of the Galaxy exploring to fly all way back (which could take days or if not weeks) just to help his friend with a mission, but I am getting off track. Back to the people who had their "opinions" about telepresence. So now all you nay sayers about telepresence heres a thought......Haven't we always been using telepresence? ( cue dramatic music... Dum dum dum) Think about it for a minute. When you first started playing Elite Dangerous and died from what ever the cause. Whether it was a bad landing or docking. If was that you were out gunned or out numbered. Even got to close to the sun (literally). What ever caused you to blow up. You would blow up, get the message "Your ship was destroyed" and had to rebuy or start with a loaned sidewinder even further in debt with the loan sharks. With all our death fresh in mind. Back the station you were at last. How the hell did you end up back at that last station so fast? With everthing on your ship minus the cargo of course? Maybe we are still on Earth in a pod controlling a hologram or a station somewhere? Who knows.....
Well ladies and an gentlemen. There is your food for thought. Think about it. Let it sit a minute. Tell me what you think and sorry if the post is super long and off topic in some areas. I was just typing what was on my mind.
See you in the star Commanders
