Ufff, I can't understand this game.
It seems that the developers are deliberately trying to make the gameplay unpleasant on purpose. Otherwise I don't understand these design decisions.
Sequence of events:
But what insider's mind came up with the idea that this is good game design?
What is killing EDO is not the bugs, that could be forgiven, it is destroyed by bad and absurd design decisions like this. It is absolutely unfortunate. What a mess.

Sequence of events:
- Mission to exterminate 15 members of the XXX criminal faction on planet YYY.
- Arrival on the planet.
- Landing 2.5 km from the target settlement.
- Get off at the SRV.
- Arrive with the SRV to the settlement.
- Start shooting at the target npc's.
- Receive notice: your ship is under attack! (wait... what?!!)
- Get on the SRV and try to get to the ship as quickly as possible (you have to travel almost 3 km back).
- Finding out that your ship is under attack by an outlaw system defense ship, a Master level Vulture.
- See your ship explode into pieces with 500 meters left to reach it.
- Mission failure.
