Magellanic Oddysey I'm sure you've heard the idea that the magellanic clouds be made available in an expansion before; my proposal is different more in the details: 1. One-way trip: Use a consumable hyperdrive overboost module to allow Commanders in ships of sufficient size to make the trip. Colonies in new galaxy not advanced enough to produce them yet; only formed a couple centuries ago when generational colony ships powered by Casimir-effect generators (reference news articles in Frontier: First encounters) arrived in said galaxies. Only object large enough for hyperdrive to lock onto from so far away is a large intermediate-mass or small supermassive black hole (one in each galaxy.) Commanders can also use this device for a quick trip to Sag A* (but will have to come back the hard way.) 2. Two birds with one stone: Commanders who make this trip receive an extra character slot in the Milky Way (starting over in a Sidewinder) while keeping their advanced character in the satellite galaxy. 3. Long trip: Their original Commander will be stuck in hyperspace for a full week to make the trip. During this time, they can (if they don't feel like flying a Sidey again just yet) log in to watch a unique hyperspace animation, and maybe (1% chance?) see something incredible from another universe. 4. Maybe they'll get to bring their distant CMDRs home someday with tales of frontier life in a new galaxy (and who knows what little souvenirs.) Maybe.
