Jurassic World Evolution is a great game but its potential to be legendary is far greater. I feel the game lacks immersion. For a few reasons, the game often fails to instil the sense of fear and risk involved in the franchise. To create a more immersive and realistic game experience I feel the following should be added:
1. First person roaming. If one was able to complete tasks (Medicating, tranquillising, euthanasing etc.) on foot as an AC Ranger that would create the sense of being 'hunted' in the same way that Muldoon, Nedry, Tembo etc. were. It adds a greater sense of investiture on the player too. Trying to get from one side of the park to the other on foot, that sort of thing, would be surreal and add another level I believe.
2. Dinosaurs SHOULD be able to damage property and vehicles. They can eat people, eat each other, and break fences, why on earth they cannot grab a hold of my ranger vehicle and throw it across the ravine is beyond me. I imagine JEEP have some sort of animosity in their cars being wrecked for entertainment. Toughen up, JEEP. It didn't worry you (or Mercedes) when they were thrown, smashed, etc throughout the '90s films. Again, having carnivores attack vehicles just heightens the risk in the game-play and just makes it more aligned with the reality of having a dinosaur zoo.
3. Lethal weapons NEED to be an option. To me it is just absurd that any game would be made for Jurassic Park/World franchise and lethal weapons not part of it. Every film had them. Every game (except Lego) had them. It is so unrealistic to bar players from being able to use lethal weapons to put down a rampaging dinosaur. Jurassic Park Operation Genesis had both the lysine contingency and rifles. We want to live the movies, man, let us by allowing realistic means! Y'all have made such an aesthetically realistic game - why make it unrealistic by removing lethal weapons? Protect our rangers' 2nd amendment rights!
4. Let us shoot tranq darts, medication, health, and bullets from both chopper and vehicle. I don't understand. Not only are park rangers driving around without lethal weapons with them... they're driving around without even tranq darts! Based on this game's logic, if a ranger wants to safely replace a feeder, he needs a chopper to back him up instead of just taking a tranq (or real) gun. But I guess they're pretty safe as NOTHING attacks the cars anyway. Not even a T-Rex which has attacked cars (even buses and helicopters) in nearly all movies and books.
5. This is the least important of them - add aquatic/flying 'dinosaurs'. There are STACKS of dinosaurs to play with (thanks for that!) and they're all so beautiful! But if you ask me, we don't need new dinosaurs, we need different ones. Different ones that, in their addition, add more depth and reality to the game. Not just colours and sizes.
In a nutshell, you folks have made a great game. It's beautiful and almost provides the same sense once felt as a young boy all those years ago seeing the first ever film. However, it could be LEGENDARY in the gaming world if it just followed reality more and allowed players to not only play Jurassic World, but to LIVE it.
