For commuters....

Anyone any ideas how commuters can get credits whilst... Erm commuting? It's a grind.... Kinda like credit farming. I now farm so I can power play as there's much better pilots out there that keep killing me. But that's cool!
But I want the adrenaline of pp on weekends and the humdrum of trading/ credit accumulation whilst on the train....
On iPhone, iPad, or laptop.
Anyone any ideas?

Spend all your time on ED shipyard and Trading tools working out new routes or ship builds :)

As yet I don't think there's any app or anything. Could do exploring on a laptop with 4G connection but otherwise its difficult.

Yeah... Could do research to optimise the grind I guess.
Actually it would be huge if there was some kinda coupled Apple app or fb app that could exist in the elite universe that could get us credits whilst on the train. Something like an app to plan and build a space station or setup/design/colonise an unpopulated system.... This kind of civilisation type games has a natural affinity with touch screens.
And you could have folks online protecting whilst the commuters build and expand.
Anyone got an idea of the kind of resource required to make such an app?
And Would this 'fly' with frontier?

Trading is quite doable in open on a 4G tethered mobile connection. Exploring would be as well I imagine.

hi
there is/was an ios app, i don't think it did all that much, didn't make it to android. you could look it up.
can play elite on a laptop with mobile connection, i play using a desktop and mobile phone (mine is capable of 4g but not where I live, so I use "H+")
I played on my laptop once, i7-3517u 8gb, it worked. I think it was early beta and we could install on more than one device, now we can't. but maybe you could have two copies used for one cmdr, i don't know, probably better would be a separate account for your laptop. I had to put settings very low.
I would keep to solo if you're on train because connection probably won't be reliable, but I think you could explore, maybe trade.
My recent commutes 20mins each way I just played with edshipyard and the forums. But there's a lot of trading stuff online too.
there's a game modelled on the old elite, oolite or something, I suspect it would work with lower specs and probably offline.
