PvP For Honor: The lone enforcer's gambit

Why wasn't I surprised seeing those ganker's names?

After some minutes I thought "he can't win" this... seems like I was right.
Still, nice flying (y)

Sick vid. Something we all can aspire to, although I'm not convinced at all about this new FDL meta of biweave and SR railguns. It works great against itself and in a wing, no doubt that will serve it well as a meta anyway, but I can't help thinking that if I could fly like that, I definitely would have landed more PA shots than the pilot landed rail shots. Basically I can't help thinking the classic prismatic with cells, 3 PA, 2 long range rail is the counter. Odd that the new meta is countered by the old. Great flying and shooting given the difficulty, inspirational stuff.

I liked the part where they couldn't shoot you down.

Lot of PAs, barely any hitscan in that group, and no emissive...very difficult to land hits on a pilot who can move an FDL, who has sixteen heatsinks, dual chaff, and is only firing intermittently with loadouts like that.

Basically I can't help thinking the classic prismatic with cells, 3 PA, 2 long range rail is the counter.

If he's trying to shoot you down, sure, but if the goal is to dance around you as long as possible, your heavier, slower, nearly as lead indicator dependent setup isn't going to shoot him down very quickly.

Dude del Gusto,

You have my total admiration. I, too, would rather die than let others take advantage of the innocent, even though such role play is allowed in the TOS.

And since I suck, I've died quite a bit. And I look forward to repeatedly dying in the future for the sake of my personal integrity. Hopefully I will avoid being self-righteous about it, too!

There are those who find it enough to discipline their behavior. There are others who insist on disciplining their thoughts as well, which can be exampled in the virtual playground of the video game.

Commander del Gusto,

I was just looking at your video. I can understand having so many heat sinks so that you are more difficult to target and so that you do not cook from the railguns. I also understand the need for chaff. What I do not know is when do you decide to deploy them, that is the timing of the heat sinks and chaff? What happens to your ship that stimulates you to use them? Forgive me if I am ignorant, but I have not ever fought more than one opponent by myself. Thanks!

:)

Fighting more opponents is always difficult and a big challenge
You have less time to do all the actions which are necessary.
Even the power distributor handling is more challenging.

In view of heat sinks they have many tasks:
1. When shields are gone, activate one to hide from sensors and decrease the time you are vulnerable, care in light of emissive weapons though.
2.When firing srb rail guns and using heatsinks: it not only cools down the ship, but it also loads the distributor a little, so use one heatsink and fire multiple volleys of rails when you are in a good attack position ( < 1 km). Remember the srb damage falloff starts at 1 km and at 1.5 km the damage is zero.
3. If shields are still up and you are under heavy attack and getting a lot of damage, you can use a heatsink to hide from the sensors of the opponent and also lessen gimballed weapon damage, here also be careful in view of emissive. Also, rail gun snipers are also not as able to destroy your modules because when you are cold they are less likely to get a lock on them

now chaff
Chaff is a specific counter weapon; if you get a lot of damage from multiple attackers activate it.
You can increase the time they confuse the enemy's gimballed weapons by flying through the chaff projectiles after launching them. I believe this is shown partially in the video. Because chaff have a cooldown, take 2 of them so that you always have chaff available when you are getting heavy damage.
Chaff are highly effective versus gimballed multi-cannons and lasers, they are not so effective versus frags. Frags can hit even when using chaff because the enemy is usually nearer and frags spread a lot... therefore you will be hit, perhaps not with the full volley but it will hurt nevertheless.

Fighting more opponents is the best drill to get better in 1v1 because you have to do everything in a shorter time and be much more accurate.
