I'm playing the game not reading archived dreams...

And it's this sort of attitude that has helped to create the Relese-a-half-finished-product-and-a-new-bunch-of-breakable-promises situation in gaming that we have now.

It used to be that we waited a bit longer for a finished product, you remember those?

If you like the game as it is then say it and feel fine about it but DO NOT make excuses for something (and/or somebody) that has not lived up to the original hype. You are being suckered and are standing there asking for more if you do this.

There is a significant amount of ED that was, probably, never going to happen, but was a way to get start-up money. That in itself is bad enough.

He's talking about the bugs and lack of content.

All games have bugs to some extent. As for content, there's all sorts of stuff to do in the game, it just gets boring quickly. That's not the same as there being little content.

Anyway, it's only a video game, I don't understand why some people get so worked up. If it's boring play something else.

PC ******release******

Right. It's released. It hasn't been smooth sailing at all times, but we have a fun game that we spend far too many hours playing as often as we can. I have 0 problems with them trying to grow their market at this stage

I agree with this, and I would go one step further:

Since this game requires FD to maintain services online in order for me to play it, I have an interest in ED being a profitable venture for FD. I expect folks like Braben to make intelligent business decisions that will increase revenue streams so that I can continue to play the game I'm enjoying and so that it continues to develop and improve over the next few years.

Online services that don't make enough money have a way of going up in smoke, and then you won't just have an ED you're disappointed in, you won't have it at all.

From Op's own link
>The initial release of Elite: Dangerous doesn't mark the end of development. We intend to continue expanding the game both with new content and new features.

If this was 2022 people would still complain it is to soon for consoles. "Why do we only have three textures for alien grass, we need at least four!". I get it, people want FD to focus exclusively on whatever it is they personally want, and if that don't happen we claim to be betrayed. Just slightly less sad an attitude than the constant pretension console gamers are some sort of genetically inferior sub-species. I don't have a console nor do I care about having one, but the more people get a chance to play the better IMHO.

.

Everybody who pledged on the KS knew what they were getting themselves into. The development of ED was always going to be in a 'minecraft' sort of way and FD never said otherwise ...

Whilst I don't disagree there are a lot of games that come out these days 'unfinished', FD never said it would be by a certain date, and in fact said from the start the development would be a long ongoing process.

Stop trolling ...

Whats there to discuss? Don't really get what the OP wants.

The focus was very much on the Windows PC Game
Game gots it inital Release
Later Mac came
Then Xbox annoucment
And at last PS4 annoucment.

So it happend like he said. Not a lot to say about that.

Its kind of a moot point.Either
1) They are ready to release as some people believe and arguing now won't change anything.
2) They are not ready to release and don't see it as a priority.
3) They see it as a priority and are working on it but are not ready yet.

Whatever option you pick they will have already made the decision a while back since adapting for an alternate platform is not something you do in a few weeks, its usually a minimum 3 months process if not more.
Personally I think they will release, its been a while since they announced X-box would be coming at somepoint. E3, whilst not solely consoles is quite console dominated so would be an appropriate place to give that news.
(FYI I use the phrase "ready for release" as a vague statement given recent "releases")

Stirring successful, time to move on :)

If trolling means disagreeing with you then you will have to avoid an awfull lot of bridges.

My point is 100% correct and 100% valid. I dont care about a console realese, I care that everyone seems to nod and smile and not care about it.

As I said before, enjoy your game, you paid for it, but dont pretend that half of it got brushed under the carpet (or maybe under a bridge, who knows).

But the mac is kinda like a pc when you look at it. Consoles look different, so the players are probably different too. Most likely they will be griefers. I don't want griefers, I want everything I ever dreamed about right now. If that is not realistic, I want the devs to work 24/7 until that point is reached. Who cares if hundreds of thousands of human beings will now have access to this game and may enjoy it a lot, generating money for FD? They are not me, and I care about me. It doesn't matter if David said from the start ED will be a work in progress, with a vague plan for 10 years of further development. If he doesn't give me my stuff now, the very least he could is pay nobody else any attention. Or I'll call him a liar.

I have 0 problems with them trying to grow their market at this stage, and since they picked a glorified windows machine to expand into anyway, the Xbox one version shouldn't even be a major distraction.

I wonder if they'll involve the beta testers? I'm personally holding out for a PS4 version, and then only if they'll join PC sessions so my son can join me.

Hey, who's excited about the new steam Streaming device? If I can plug in my joystick and keyboard it'll be SO much easier to play Elite on the big living room tv!

It hasn't been smooth sailing period. It's been downright troublesome from the start, so much so that I doubt I'll put money into a kickstarter again.

Of course you don't have to care for the Business side of FD, thats not a customers problem.

As far as getting your stuff goes - if you have the Game you got your stuff, thats what you paid for. If you are not happy with the product you purchased then thats unfortunate, even more so considering that getting your money back is in this case probably not all that easy. Sorry for that.

And when he lied you can of course call him liar. Don't really see a lie in the topic here tough.
