THIS IS NOT a debate over whether the 10% penalty should be imposed or not. if you have a comment on that, go post it in the 100 page thread in the beta forum.
.

I'm just curious what people plan on doing if it's imposed-- specifically, people that use a single ship and refit it for trading/exploring/fighting? continue to re-fit ships as before, or focus on a single profession?

Even though i'm against the change it won't affect me much. I'll use my conda for trading/mining, the python for combat and general mission running, and I'll buy another asp for exploration. People that don't have 700 million though...

Surprisingly I'm going to keep my Anaconda for exploration, which I guess means that I'll purchase a Type-9 for trading and use my Imperial Clipper for combat.

yeah, just wondering if I should refit my conda. I can't think of any ship that's better at exploration. And I love fighting in it, even if It moves like a pig. so I 'm going to optimize it for one or the other, and buy a different ship I guess. LEaning towards using the conda for exploration, and maybe getting another ship for fighting pirates.

Pretty sure people will do what I've done since the game came out, buy multiple ships. Trade in a conda, explore in an asp, bounty hunt in a vulture and by 1.3 mine in Python (?).

I still think there should be module storage though.

Not going to stick with any, I'll just have to work to buy another 2 anacondas and 2 pythons so I can carry on playing a bit of everything several times per session as I do now. Urgh, it's going to be so much work lol :(

In the process of converting my Anaconda into a trader variant with self-defense in mind, exploration-qualified ASP Explorer. Going to sticking with all 3 main professions to maintain a healthy credit balance.

for the most part the 10% lose isnt going to bother me at all, theres only a few items that i couldnt make the 10% back in a very short time.

Will keep my Python fitted for combat. Will change the weapons as needed for PvP or PvE. Other than that I guess I will just have to buy more ships if I want to trade or explore.

Fer-deLance with scoop, 32T cargo, 4A shields, and lots of guns, cargo/killwarrant scanners, fsd interdictor, and wake scanner. That's gonna let me do delivery missions, assassinations, some fighting, enough travelling (as long as there are stars to scoop, ofc), bounty hunting..

I think I'm good.

Once I get spare money, I might additionally buy something for trading or exploring if needed.

Traded in my Anaconda in anticipation for this (too high maintenance anyway). Gonna be using a Python for combat and... I guess an Asp, if I ever feel like exploring again? I don't really do a lot of trading.

I have my Type 9, a battle cobra, and a Exploration Asp. Will keep playing to fill my stable...not sure if I will multi fit or buy separate ships..depends on how money goes.

I won't stick to one profession, although exploring is my main one. Ill either swap modules out as i need to, or have specialized ships.

I'm not against it, and it won't change how I play. I'm constantly changing modules for whatever I'm doing. I'll even buy a fuel scoop just for a single long journey and sell it when I arrive. I think the 10% resell cost adds realism and depth to the game, more consideration has to go into each buy, but also I've done the math and where I'm at in the game, 10% won't affect me much, I have more money than I know what to do with right now, so no, it won't change how I play the game much. I do think it will change how starting players play the game however, so I've been considering doing an account reset.
