For people using voice attack. Do you use headsets, or headphones with a separate Mike?

I am thinking of replacing my old headset with something a little better. I hear headphones give better sound quality than headsets. So I thought I'd ask you guys what you use, and are you pleased with it?
Headphones with a seperate Mike, or headsets?

sharkoon xtatic 5.1 headset with built in mic here.... it works ok, however VA insists on picking up ghost words all the time, and I am stumped on trying to stop it.

if i up the sensitivity too much it ignores my commands - and still seems to do its own thing anyway.

and if i lower it too much the random commands get even worse. I have actively had to remove some of them to stop it going disasterously badly.... but still, despite it sounding like i am moaning, VA is great and adds a little extra to the game.

Headset. Connected via USB. Interesting to read that it may work better if connected through sound card!! Might have a play tonight! My Mike is up full level and sometimes i have say command 2 or 3 times, other times i can say it just once!

I'm gonna be different and say neckslung mic, because I can have the speakers on at the same time.
The nearer the microphone is to your mouth, the better chance the computer has of understanding your commands.

I use a Logitech G430, I don't want to wake the family up! Comfy fit, surround sound is reasonably decent and it works nicely with both VA. and wing comms.

Not sure if it helps mate, but these are my settings.

When I do use VA I use headphones (Panasonic hi-fi ones) and a Blue Yeti mic (USB).

I prefer playing over speakers though, no need to listen out for footsteps in ED ;)

Soundcard is a Soundblaster Z.

Audio-Technica ATH-ADG1 headphones with integrated mic.

They also make a handy place for the TrackClip to sit. Teamspeak comes through the headphones, and they are open style cans so the game music plays through the desktop speakers. Best arrangement, I've found.
