For the love of all that is holy -- shared bounties

It's sad when you kill Anacondas with a buddy and have to really really try to let one or the other get the final blow. It's a bit tough. If we could transfer each other credits that would work too, but really we need shared bounties. 100,000 credits on this last Anaconda would have been delicious split between the two of us.

I guess wings are required for this.
 
A buddy and I ran into the same thing, albeit with much smaller bounties. We want to go hunting/raiding/whatever together. Friendship drive forever! :)
 
"Wings" is the next content release, it's quoted as coming out "Early 2015". It will let you fly in a Wing (or squadron, if you prefer) and share mission rewards and bounties. Just google "Elite Dangerous Wings" for more info :)

I hope they add a co op mode that has shared bounties. Not have shared bounties when it different players that you meet over time.
 
yes, i know wings are coming soon. would love some more insight as to "when" ... i know slave fsd is off the table because it's apparently too difficult to program it. ... worst excuse i've ever heard btw.

other co-op stuff would also be lovely (dungeon style stuff perhaps, other objectives, etc.).
 
I do wonder if they will expand on conflict zones, perhaps tune the strength of an opposing fleet to the wing you're flying with in some way (net worth + rank) and make it instanced or something.

I'm sure when planetary action comes up we'll see open pvp for that too, similar to conflicts. Just have to see what comes.

As for the Wings release, I'm sure we'll get something out of them time-wise when they're ready - putting out post-release fires (bug extermination + user-friendly tweaks) would have to take some time as well. I think they deserve to have a New Years Eve on the back end of the holiday season.

unfortunately the best you'll get on "when" is "soon" :) however given the rate of progress of ED first half of 2015 seems very probable.

The dropping of "drive slaving" was done primarily because the dev team wanted to move in another direction. Rather than make the pilots of the "slaved" ship passive passengers whilst being directed by the leader of the group, FD wanted a more hands on "flying" experience with group members having to communicate and the effectiveness of the group being down to the piloting skill of the group.

To do that they are aiming to make communicating between members easier (possibly group chat, possibly shared targets) , seeing where members are easier (colours on hud?), seeing the status of other members easier (under attack, charging, shield down) and finally making following members from SC into instances easier.

When i first saw that FD were dropping "drive slaving" i was disappointed, but after following the thread where FD laid out the decisions and reasons i came rpund and am looking forward to their new interpretation.
