For those wanting to understand design and history.

Dear All,

I am posting this up here as it is a good documentary of Arrow (one of the great pillars of coaster companies) and is very informative on coaster development. What's more, and why I have put it in this threat, is that is demonstrates and discusses what makes good coaster design. I think budding creators will benefit two-fold from this excellent film.

Super stuff, really informative.

Good find. May I add a recommendation for the recently released book Theme Park Design? (for the record I have NO affiliation with the book, the author or its website). It's not cheap but it's a hefty publication right up the alley for many of us I suspect.

I plan to dig into it over the summer and autumn ahead of the game's final release.

Excellent find! Thank you ever so much for finding that one; I look forward to going through it.

I shall return the favour with these:

Lukas, S. A. (2008), Theme Park, London: Reaktion Press.

Oh, this sounds like just the right kind of documentary for Planet Coasters fans. ;-)
Thank you RJGEvans for the tip! [happy]

Fascinating... Thanks for posting

Ha, definitely a big thank you for sharing.
Watched it at work yesterday.

Didn't look for it yet, but they were also talking about B&M briefly as big competitor due to their smooth rides, is there a documentary about them as well?

You're all welcome; I am glad that so many have found it informative. It's a real gem of a documentary, I hope they do more.

I don't currently have a B&M documentary at hand, but what I do have at hand is a brief video demonstrating their track manufacturing. If I ever find a full documentary on B&M I shall immediately post it here.

Enjoy.

Wow that's awesome!!!

I'm only 12 minutes in and hooked! I hope they mention the work they did in the late 90s... The did a ❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎ of a job with the Phantom's Revenge here @ Kennywood.. it's second drop is still considered one of the best ever made!

Can't edit for some reason but YAY! They mentioned the Phantom!! Before they changed it into Phantom's Revenge, that ride used to kill my head. The loops were incredibly rough.. you'd bang your head around a lot.. but it was SO much fun...
