I would prefer that the devs would handcraft missions and improve overall game play cohesion so that doing things in ED will have greater effect on the BGS or its ongoing lore and current affairs.
Before space legs their team still needs to improve the current game to attract more fans. Most complain about not knowing what to do and that it all looks the same, but that is mostly newbies, and unfortunately,it takes a little more gaming time to appreciate the game.
For now, base assaults still seems to have been neglected. Its like an alpha development game that could have extra potential for more fun and involved gaming concepts.
Mission to reward ratio still feels out and unrealistic. I would prefer to see less missions on the board but the caveat being that less missions mean more significant impact and logic on BGS or rep.
Some minor bugs still need work. FSD bugs for example.
Space legs may just end up being another FPS and there is no shortage of those games. Running around and shooting other CMDRS!! Not really something that Frontier should bother with as there is enough FPS games on the market.
If only ED could merge with Empyrion, which is a first person style space crafting and survival alpha game, then space legs game play in ED would be awesome. You can then build space-craft and bases, mine planets and other things. It would even take care of atmospheric planets but unfortunately, both games run on different engines so it would most likely never happen.
HOTAS users will also need to use the mouse as well if space legs become a thing in ED.
