For when Imperial Shipkits become available.

Please FDev, can the majority of options be downplayed, subtle, tasteful and seemingly essential. If not that, can they have a performance-jet aesthetic, as though inspired by some of the most innovative aircraft designs of our era?
Personally, I'm hoping to get a kit for each of my Imperial ships, and am even hoping to see a sleek, curvy kit for a keelback (crazy right!)
Some hopeful wishlisting:

IEagle: Mostly like the Eagle, but allowing for deletion of the spoiler, in favour of other rear wing accessories. Personally, I'm hoping for a kit with a low, wide v-tail, with each tailfin extending from the same mounting as the stock spoiler, as opposed to a spoiler or vertical stabilisers. I think this would give an aggressive, fighter-jet aesthetic, reminiscent of the YF-23. Similar canards to a classic Eagle, and some shaping to the outboard engine nacelles, to perhaps give them a taller, blade-like profile like the Eagle mk1 from earlier titles, and I'm sorted for this sleek, race-ready craft.

Courier: Anything around the nacelles to change up the square box cross section would warrant a look from me, perhaps a pair of inwards canted vertical fins, paired with small winglet extensions outboard of the engines. Pair this with a trailing edge extension that boat-tails the rear of the craft, and a nose kit that extends blended chines into leading edge extensions for the wings. Overall this could inspire a very SR-71 blackbird look from the Courier. Engineers let us make this ship blazingly fast. Let us make it look blazing fast.

Clipper: This ship always felt very business-jet to me, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. A dome that blends the curve of hull above the canopy with the nose and canopy itself a bit more, small vertical elements to the nacelles, and perhaps a few sections of gloss black, to imply passenger spaces with sweeping windows, like the ships from S-K.

Cutter: I don't own one of these yet, so I will withold comment on this ship.

Keelback: I'd love a kit that adds curved lines from bow to stern if used as a collective kit. Rounded shoulders, with redesigned retrothrusters firing through slim, curved slots. Engine nacelles given the Gutamaya treatment with subtle kite-shield shape, extended tail structure that slims into pointed trailing edges framing fixed engines, which are fitted with sleek nozzle housings. All sections interlocking to give curved lines from end to end, and picked out in blue neon. Heck, if the canopy can be refitted, can we get something like the Asp, but frameless? Or alternatively, can we get an Imperial ship with a similar role?

To those reading this on the forums what kits do you want for the imperial ships, if any?

I want an Airfix kit :D

Please dont mess with Imperial ship design.

All of the beautiful ships that come from Gutamaya look just fine without any extra "ship kits" - unlike their Federal counterparts which need all the help they can get to try and look cool and classy but still fall short of the mark.

True Imperials know that their ships are the best looking craft in the galaxy and I expect the Emperor to decree that basking is strictly forbidden in customised or modded Imperial Ships!!!

Not sure if Imperial Ship Kits are a good idea, they look too good.

The Anaconda had room for improvement and look at the front options for that thing, all hideous!

I should probably specify, I think the Imperial ships look mostly fine as they are now, but each ship (except maybe the Cutter) has a few details that missed their mark, IMHO. The IEagle's spoiler, the Courier's boxy engines, the Clipper's duck-nose, each being an example. That said, they look really good outside these minor flaws. Hence wanting any kits that do get made to be subtle tweaks rather than overstated spoilers and wings.

I'm not sure what shipkits would add to the Imperial ships. I tend to think the current style of ship kits would ruin the elegant lines of the Courier, Clipper and Cutter. I would like a way to change the colour of the glowing strips though.

i was going to say, neon colours and subtle changes. I've seen some good overstated mockups

but if in doubt, don't do it ;)

The Imeprial Eagle is already a shipkit, basically.

That said, I agree that if we get Imperial shipkits (and I want them), they should be tasteful and inspired by Burt Rutan.

Imperial ships don't need them. You wouldn't put a chavvy spoiler on an Aston Martin, now would you?

No, but most car manufacturers, including Aston Martin redesign the body of their cars every few years, usually quite subtly, to differentiate "this year's" model. Again, I'm asking that they do make these kits, just that they do the Imperial ships with a more refined aesthetic. And that they let us remove the spoiler on the IEagle.

thats crap.

if anything the Clipper needs the top nacelle so it looks like the imperial trader.

There's only two things i'd change on my iCourier:
.
1. I'd like it if the engine nacelles could be shaped a little more round.
.
2. It would be awesome if ship kits would cover the utility slots. Currently the utilities mounted there break both the painstyle and the sleek lines of the ship. Nice covers (which -might- retract when weapons are deployed) would fix that massive problem. (If nothing moves and utilities are simply covered also works for me. )
.

I have to agree, Imperial ships are lookers and great fun to fly. I own them all except for the Cutter, but I'll get one in time. I just wish we had an Imperial Explorer ship to fly, their best ranged ship is the Courier but it's not near up to snuff when compared to the likes of the Anaconda, DBE, or Asp E, or even the Orca and Dolphin.

As for Imperial ship kits, I'd certainly be curious to see them, but these ships are almost too good looking naturally, I'm not sure kits could improve on them?

I've always seen the empire as advanced so giving ship kits that made the ships look like Eagles (The bird not the ship) would be cool. Or make their ships look more tactical with with a swept back aerodynamic shape to match their sleek design.

I'd have thought the ultimate kit for iShips would be a Burberry paint job or seat cover... and a rubber-duck bobblehead of course
