Newcomer / Intro Force Feedback

I know one of the main emphases in ED has been the immersive experience, supporting VR and all that. Sadly, my setup is not that sophisticated. I'm playing on a PC, btw, and have been successfully using an ancient Saitek Cyborg 3D Gold USB stick. Works ok for me.

However, I have just bought a Speedlink Phantom Hawk flight stick, and it has Force Feedback, supposedly. I'm aware of what happens to controller bindings when you change the controller, so that's all sorted. But I am wondering how the player controls force feedback from within the game? Or is there none? Any suggestions gratefully received :)

Thanks

Force feedback is no longer a thing in most flight games, because there's a patent-troll company that charges high rates to developers that want to implement it.

There are other solutions, like the buttkicker, that use audio cues to add haptic feedback to the game.

edit
Having looked at the joystick mentioned, it's vibration rather than force feedback. I don't think Elite offers that on PC either.

Ah, fair enough - really appreciate your reply, it's going to save me vainly looking for menus that aren't there ;)

Cheers mate

I remember those days. My all time favorite is Cyborg Evo Force, still have two of these. It is so cool to watch this stick moving on itself when using autopilot in flight simulator, or when you getting actual stick shaker when stalling the airplane. For ED I decided to go with X52 PRO, really good stuff. No force feedback but with all these maneuvering thrusters and bunch of other stuff in this game it works much better than joystick.

Few years ago I've heard somewhere that this patent is about to expire. Hopefully we'll see force feedback coming back.
