Forced to go back to monitor

Yeah a CPU temp that is 60C on idle if clearly not cooled well. Even the stock cooler should be able put it at 30-40C easily.
You probably either have a misaligned heatsink or a cpu fan full of dust so the air cant flow through. Its easy fixable.

I read some comments on the internet about the cpu cooler in his machine and it's apparently difficult to fit.

Even the stock cooler wouldn't idle that high. Remount the cooler and make sure thermal paste is spread out. Likely one of the four corners isn't down completely.

Also check CPU voltage with cpu-z. If its something like 1.4v or higher under load that is too much. Run wprime with four threads to load test the CPU only.

After talking with there support team they sent me some more securing plates for the heat sink once I replaced I'm glad to say that it's all sorted and working fine. Stress tested the cpu with prime95 and left it for an hour was struggling to hit 50c and was idle at 26c. So I tried FD with settings on max settings on the rift ran beautiful didn't even break sweat reaching 43c and and a steady 75 frames every where apart from station dropped to 70 so might jiggle the settings a bit. Got a 6 hour session planned for tonight lol

Thanks to everyone that helped much appreciated one happy CMDR

I actually run a 4790k in a 97 with a 970 gpu. Just finished gaming with it literally running all day even during breaks i would just let it run and sit in a station. I would also run a second monitor with a dozen side windows for things like youtube, music and outside coms with players.

cpu 50c package core 0 50c all other cores under 44c
mb 39-45c max temps across the board
gpu max temp was 51c

i honestly dont see the game being the issue at all
