Forced to Solo !!

My frame rate gets cut in half as soon as there is another commander in my instance so I have been forced into solo as well. Even there, if I stay in RES for more than a few minutes the framerate starts dropping. It doesnt take long for my FPS to drop below the magic number 60 I need for smooth play.

I could deal with this if I could OC something to make it better, but the game isnt using more than 50% of my GPU or CPU, so overclocking does nothing. The exception being in stations, where the GPU runs at 99% even though it doesnt need to.

Praying they make good on the stutter fixes they are hoping to put through with 1.3. I could deal with waiting another week or 2 for the update if it meant they got this issue fixed.

How long has this been going on? I've been exploring for the past month and haven't been near any players.

I have noticed frame rate drops near multiple planets or gas giants with multiple moons. I'm also finding that I have to detail scan bodies twice some times and the ADS is not picking all of the planets at other times.

Obviously, these problems may be unrelated!

This does seem to be an ongoing problem. It finally claimed my trusty old Powercolor HD 7950 and Silverstone 1 kW psu about two weeks ago. Now having upgraded to a Asus DCII CU 290x and new psu, I am seeing the same behavior, and this is with vsync at 1440p. Really hope they fix this, since this could potentially destroy peoples hardware unless it is heavily water cooled.

I too experience micro-stutters, and so does everyone I play with. It's the single worst part of the game for me.

Micro stutters (which not everyone seems to get) is not really the same as 1/2 frame rates).

For those runng high frame rates normally, do you still get the same issues if you turn down your graphics? Ie do you get a drop in frame rates from the lower settings in open compared to solo or does it only happen when you have everything maxed?
