In Zack's "Control" page it says Cancelled.
I am very confused here. I thought that once we reached the Trigger level we succeeded for that system,
yet it said Ongoing up till today when UM passed its' trigger
My question here is.... Who won??
The fortification Trigger was passed days ago but all it said was Succeeding, while the Undermining was still Ongoing.

There are four different states for the upkeep costs of a control system:

Not undermined & not fortified: Default upkeep costs
Not undermined & fortified (=fortified): No upkeep costs
Undermined & fortified (=cancelled): Default upkeep costs
Undermined & not fortified (=undermined): Default upkeep costs + base income

"Succeeding" just means that a trigger has been reached and there is no need to put more undermining/fortification into it. "Ongoing" just means that undermining/fortification of that system is still in process and hasn't reached the triggers yet. It doesn't matter if a system is undermined or fortified first, only the end result (see above) defines what the upkeep costs of that system for the cycle will be.

Depends if you want to cause the miniscule damage the normal upkeep would do.

There's 3 states for a system: Fortified - Default - Undermined

The system being both undermined and fortified returns it to its default status, which means it will have to pay upkeep (~15-30 CC). But no further damage can be done by undermining more than 100%.

So if a system is fortified but not undermined yet, you can do damage by undermining it, but not the full swing. If the system is both fortified and undermined, there's nothing left for anyone to do there apart from farm merits.

OK, along same line as the topic.. can someone post time and credit amounts (to buy out supplies) required to reach 5,000 merits fortifying (to maintain rank 5) vs. undermining with a wing for two to three hours (approx. 1750-2500 merits)?

Normally I would undermine, but with the recent update I'm just gonna fortify until I can get my head around the changes and get my feet firmly on the ground, the whirlwind has been interesting.
Still working hard to maintain Rank 5, spending most to buy the supplies, and I will see how it all pans out . . .

Me too... I didn't undermine at all after losing my Corvette twice... I think I'll take a break for awhile and possibly do some fortifiying.
