General / Off-Topic Fortitude

My wife and I found this diamond in the rough on Amazon Prime a few months ago and I highly recommend it. It's all about a sense of mystery and creeping horror fostered by a wintery, "cut off from civilization" setting. The acting seems a little stiff at first, but the writing is solid, the characters continually grow throughout the season, and the sense of isolation, danger and dread is a slow but steady grind up to a solid conclusion. Stanley Tucci makes a guest appearance, not only delivering one of his very best performances, but also providing one of the cooler characters I've seen on a serial program in recent memory.

Check it out; I hope you enjoy peeling back the layers as much as we did.

EDIT: let's keep this thread spoiler free; the mystery is one of the best parts:)

This is my favorite show. The second season wasn't as good as the first (trading Tucci for Dennis Quaid was not great), but it was still fascinating and very dark and weird. Dan Anderson, the sheriff, is one of my favorite characters in any show.

Saw it some time ago, liked it a lot. Cinematography ios excellent, and there is a great mix of oppressive atmosphere with a warm feeling of small town.

The 2nd season was good too, but I liked the first one more.
