Forum addiction

I am not sure what has happened.

It may be just coincidence but since the release of 1.3, I seem to be spending more time on these forums than actually playing the game.

I am sure my journey through ED will match many others, lots of trading and BB missions. Steadily saving money/refitting ships as I could with a progression from Sidewinder to Cobra to Type 6. Generally avoiding combat except when interdicted in the Cobra. Then started doing the odd Community goal - trade initially and then, after I got a Vulture, a couple of combat ones near 78 Ursae Majoris. Did pretty well (top 15% in the Stop The Sobek Boys) given my limited hours available away from RL. Then did a bit of RES "hunting" shortly before the latest big update...

(By the way, RES "hunting" before 1.3 was really dumb, why did all these big, high bounty ships keep turning up to be obliterated by one Vulture and a couple of Police Vipers??)

Now though, meh.

RES hunting seems more realistic with mainly smaller ships pitching up who can at least give the pretence of a fight but not enough to maintain my interest. PP leaves me cold, I have enjoyed the lone pilot thing. One man and his ship against the universe etc

So what now? Finally get that Asp I was actually aiming for when I got the Vulture (which I can not fit out properly due to all the filthy lucre the CGs have given me) and go explore the big black?

Any useful suggestions?

Clear your save and start from scratch - you might enjoy it, as many have!

It had crossed my mind but I am sure there is more to be gained while I still have the advantage of money and better ships.

I thought it would be more appropriate when I have exhausted more avenues of game play.

I never really understood this advice - one can apply any limitations to play style without clearing the save.

I mean, at that point, why not go for True Iron Man Mode: format your drive and reinstall the O/S.

I think clearing save is a little extreme. With each update comes more experiences.

I tried a bit of smuggling for a couple of hours when I could make 3.5k a tonne. Never had to come in hot to avoid scan before. A little exciting as different.

Haven't taken plunge to pledge yetbut sure I will when I can work out whats going on.

Until last night I have been squeaky clean. I stacked 4 missions to kill clean npc so now have bounty in that system. Payout was pretty cool at just over a mll.

The point I am trying to make is there are lots of play styles open mix it up. Dont work about credits. Last night was a bonus. Time before I only made 100k all evening, but I was playing collection drones and hatch breakers and smuggling goods.

There is fun for whatever ship you are in.
