Forum is endangering gameplay

A forum is supposed to be a public place to discuss ideas. But some just put others on ignore! This is ruing the forum!!!
Everyone should be forced to see all the posts. The "Ignore User" is being used as the I-WIN button. I mean, how hard is it to scroll past a user who you don't feel like reading?!?
The "Ignore User" button also destroys the idea of a "public" forum. Some are ignoring 99% of the other users, is this what a MMO is about? NO I say. A public forum should be public!
Also: MODS may not appreciate sarcasm in posts, so always include appropriate emoticons...

The forum is getting nothing but good reviews on the internet though, despite all the "it'll be a disaster" threads on the forum official forums.
I have also seen FD posting some training videos on their website - finally! The forum has a steep learning curve!

Totally Agree OP. At least in forums you can follow your friends threads and reply constructively, following friends in game locations reveals their trade routes, its a huge exploit that is going to kill solo!
My only complaint is about exploration. It's just too easy to find your way around anywhere on the thing. All you have to do is use the search box, although apparently few people do given how much complaining there is about how unprofitable it is. I was expecting it to take much longer before someone reached the reputation level of Deadly, but now even I'm almost there. Some people were already deadly by day five.
I wrote a really long and complex post, it took me hours. Next thing the forum crashed and I had used all my words in that one post. When it came back online the only word I can type is...."sidewinder"
