Anyone else planning on getting this game on PC via Windows 10? I certainly am. My Xbox One is currently broken so I had thought I would be out of luck with the next game.

Then Turn 10 announced that the full game would be available on PC with Windows 10. BINGO!

Suddenly I'm looking at being able to play Forza again, which is great! Right now the Horizon series is the better series of the two iterations of Forza. Motorsport has been ruined by idiots in the lobbies. At least with Horizon, you are not taking it so seriously by default, which I prefer, and it's a lot more to do with personal car customisation.

On the topic of customisation, I believe I read somewhere that there will be a lot more body modifications, even wide-body mods, for cars like JDM. Boy I hope this is true. Those kind of options combined with the famous Forza livery editor... If you love cars, Forza Horizon 3 will be right up your street, pun intended.

So, anyone else looking at getting it?

Really hard to say should I be excited. Never played Forza, and as I imagine it's an arcade racer. We have plenty of those on PC, and some serious simulators too. What does it bring to the table, apart from being popular on consoles?

Hey there dude. That's a fair question, so allow me to answer as best as possible.

Thing is, Forza is actually a rather good-quality sim' at it's heart, as far as the physics are concerned. It doesn't do specific racing series so well, but the physics are superb. So as far as raw driving is concerned, it's a good game, and the hot lap leaderboards are extremely competitive.

I think the reason why a lot of us PC gamers will see it as an arcade game, is because the default settings are very arcade like, and I'm not going to deny it: Most videos on YouTube are just ten year old kids smashing into other cars...

And therein lies the problem. General multiplayer is BAD. Really bad... But there is a big but.

If you involve yourself with the game's community, involve yourself on the forums, you'll find that there are lots of groups holding extremely competitive race leagues, with huge rule lists, restrictions, etc. And don't be fooled by the default settings.. Turn off the assits and you have a serious racing game. And people spend A LOT of money to get an edge. Most of my Forza friends use steering wheels & pedals that generally retail for £200+. I know one guy who uses, and this is no joke, a £1,300 steering wheel & pedal rig, plus £275 for a simpit. Yes, this is all happening on Xbox, not PC. Get yourself involved, and there's a deadly serious racing scene in Forza. The problem is, it's rather insular. You have to prove yourself to other players first. Which is one of the game's biggest problems.

Now that's the Motorsport side of the franchise... Horizon, is a different story. As far as I know, there is a serious racing community in it, but it's specific to drift racing. (Which is what I'm looking to improve in myself) Traditional racing is not so serious in Horizon, and that's fair enough. I let it go there, because Horizon was never trying to be a serious racer, unlike Motorsport which does try, but is let down by Konsole Kidz. (Xbox friends, I don't mean this be derogatory, but Forza Motorsport has been ruined by children) Horizon 3 is also looking to be a lot more about car customisation... We shall see. I'm going to buy the game as soon as I can, and I might make a new thread here telling of my thoughts on the game.

If you have any more questions that I haven't touched upon, do please feel free to ask.

Well, that was a good breakdown :)
Notice that I didn't say that arcade was bad. I think the most fun I've ever had in racing game was in a first GRID, and it's pretty much an arcade with damage model. What an amazing game that was. Still is IMO. And for $15 on Steam quite a steal :D

Ah, my apologies. My time on Forza & who I spend it with has pre-conditioned me to assume arcade as "bad". A bad habit, I'm afraid.

I think in your case, the best bet would be to wait until the game is out, and watch some reviews on YouTube. I myself will give a personal review on this forum, and I'll happily give you any answers your seek.

You make a good point about cost, though. Sadly Forza has fallen victim to typical console price-hikes. £50 at release, it is, and that's just the standard edition. My wallet is already crying.
