Fosters Terminal - Best Ice Ring Mining - Colonia

This is a call to all miners to help prospect and complete a mapping project for the Foster Terminal Megaship Ice Ring.

Ever since the introduction of Megaships and Asteroid bases in Planetary Rings we now have an easy reference point from which to begin mapping asteroids.

COEUS system in Colonia region has a megaship within a Pristine Ice Ring which is a perfect base for any miner.
As opposed to all other mining areas this offers one of the best protection since the megaship is within the same instance so pirates are never a worry and a endless supply of limpets is just a docking request away.

All types of asteroids live on the edge right around Foster's Terminal including the elusive Low Temperature Diamonds (Below is one of the examples) - So far I've found 2 within the 6km range from the station.

I have begun a mapping project and have about 50 or so of the asteroids mapped and can reach them easily (Have tested this by multiple returns to the station after picking up contracts for Bromellite, Lithium Hydroxide, Methanol Monohydrate Crystals and Methane Clathrate)

The best part of all is that the Asterois seem to be FULLY PERSISTENT with NO RESET timer. Meaning that if you mine some Diamonds, go to supercruise and come right back the asteroid is REPLENISHED.

Below is a mockup of the type of map I've sketched out on a piece of paper ... If there is interest I can complete and share my full map of 50+ roids (33+% Bromelite, 30+% Lithium Hydroxide and LTD roids)

The number of asteroids around the station is daunting and I would very much appreciate the help of any mining teams out there to help make this the first true persistent mining location.

Additionally there are 3 new asteroid bases in the Colonia region:

Luchtaine - Moore's Charm
Kojeara - Tolagard's Junkyard
Carcosa - Robardin's Rock

All these could also serve for the origin of their own mapping projects.

TL;DR

Fosters Terminal in COEUS offers persistent asteroids within the stations reach which replenish instantly.

Nice work. I'd love to see the complete map and help expand it. The missing depletion timer sounds like a bug. Might also be the reason there aren't any metallic locations like this yet.

Do you know if there is a fragment bonus similar to extraction sites? Icy isn't exactly plentyful without it and I don't know if I'd enjoy jumping in and out that much.

Also is the engine pointing into our out of that map (up/down reference)?

Sounds a great project!

Only Moore's Charm of those three is embedded in a ring - the other two are just very small moons of non-ringed planets.

I've been operating with the idea that 'down' is the location of the engine and 'up' is the location of the rotating spindle.
This way the 'top' layer of the asteroids falls about exactly straight from the 06 and 07 landing pads.

I haven't seen any fragment boost but the persistent location means that besides LTD's the other resources are very easy to find.
Being able to jump straight to the roid you need (or well in 2-3 prospects) made the ice ring contracts fairly fast.
I was picking up all ice contracts from Colonia Hub and then going to Foster Terminal to fulfill them.

P.S.

The asteroids closest to the engine are within the 4km no fire zone for the station so there are a few that need to be ignored.

Sounds a great project!

I had only visited Moore's Charm so I mistakenly thought the others would also be in rings.
