Found a station with almost no services

actually it's both stations in asystem called Naraka, they are big stations but I can't even refuel there, no bulletin board, no outfitting, no repairs, no commodities market

only options were Home, Contacts and Universal cartographic. Is this a bug?

Not all stations offer a plethora of amenities. Before deciding on which station/platform you are going to visit you can actually check what services they offer by opening up the System Map and highlighting the station/platform - Everything is listed there :)

Yes, but that is not his question. Does it make sense to you that a full fledged station does not offer basic services?

I can get it at outposts but not stations really. Not saying that all stations should offer everything but a Coriollis should be able to at least repair and refuel.

There are also pirate stations without a black market. I did not expect that. What is the point of being a pirate station if the pirates can't sell stolen cargo at the station?

No, probably about 100Ly or so from Lave. they were both big orbital stations (Orbis I think) I thought they'd probably have every service. wasn't a problem, just seemed strange. I've never been to one that wouldn't even sell me fuel before

Big stations with almost no services can be new stations, build by the AI after release. (or during Gamma)
This process takes about a whole month until they are fully outfitted.

This. Orbis stations have frame shift drives and so in high pop space they are actually used to settle systems first, hyper driving in to give a platform for the expansion to work from.

I wonder this it is role-playing yet another game bug or actually based on some message from Frontier devs? :)

They said that new stations take time to get services set up, and that they will often have 'import goods for little or no payout and a gain in rep' missions offered at a higher rate, and that completing enough of these will speed the development of the station.

I've found that most pirate stations don't have a black market - in fact, I have found civilian stations the most likely to have one.

That makes sense, one of the stations is called Hawking Depot and the other is Novotski Oasis, maybe I'll return to Naraka one day and see if things have changed :)

Perhaps. Are these "Novitski Oasis" and "Hawking Depot"?

The System Info for Naraka says they should have Commodities, Refuel, Repair, Re-Arm, Outfitting, Shipyard.

Maybe it is a bug then, they had none of that, although I could re load my multi cannons

Mine is the basic "unexplored" System Map info from the Galaxy Map. Yours is different in that it shows the discovered planets and asteroid belt. They are inconsistent. It's worth a bug ticket to FD.

I'm not sure how to include a screenshot in a forum post. There's an "Insert Image" button, but that asks for a URL, so do I need to upload the image file to a website? Anyway it shows only the star, the two small planets and the stations, not the asteroid belt and gas giant.

I'm not sure why, but this statement really creeped me out. I just imagine going into a system outside of normal human space and finding an old, abandoned station floating dead above a ruined world. Maybe it's tumbling and twisting in space. The markings are in some strange, forgotten language and the exterior riddled with meteor strikes. I bet there'd be lots of resources you could salvage ... if you somehow manage to enter the docking bay of an out-of-control station. And who knows what else might be in there?
