Found a wreck on surface

Hello guys,

I just stumbled upon this DB wreck on some planet in the bubble. There were a few (bad) canisters scattered around and a datacore I scanned, which gave me common datas. Is this new with 2.1, or did I just miss them in 2.0 ? I only saw crashed Anacondas before.

Sometimes at random while in a station, you get a tip off that will lead you too these.

I've seen a few crash landings where I can take their cargo scattered in a line leading ether to or from the wreck before.

I found on e last night while just pootling around, discovered a pilot in a rescue pod. I know this has come up before, but still need some help:

1 Do I feel guilty for 'rescuing' the pilot to a life of slavery?

2 Do I feel guilty at leaving him to his fate?

3 Is this a test of my moral fortitude?

yes they seem to be about, and some seem to have a back story.

Yet to see one myself, though seen lots of random cargo

who knows maybe one day we will be able to salvage these, largely intact, ships, would be cool to have the pilot of a T9 (human/npc) hovering above the wreck as you drive around attaching chains to it, before being winched up and attacked to the underside of the big ship to then be taken away.

1 If you jettison him when in a station you're only guilty of dumping cargo not slaving, and so pay a small fine with a clear conscience.

2 The way to avoid this guilt is consider that he might well be a serial interdictor and that this is far better than he deserves.

3 Or maybe a test of your lateral thinking.*

*Alternativly it could be a test of your shooting skills.

These wrecks are persistent, or at least some of them are. If you become Allied with a local faction and keep doing missions for them, they sometimes give you a "tip off" telling you where to find one of these wrecks. They also give you a "decryption key" or some such, that doubles or triples the value of the retrieved data, making it worth half a million to a couple of million credits.
