Found an exploit of sorts with outfitting your ship

I just traded in my eagle for a viper, and found an exploit of sorts in the outfitting screen.
The station didn't have the weapons I liked, but I traded in my eagle anyway.
I first sold all my modules and weapons before selling my eagle.
The eagle had 2 gimballed E1 beam lasers.
And when I was outfitting the new viper, behold, I could buy back my old E1 beam lasers. I could buy 4 of them in fact!

So if you have a weapon on one of your ships, and want the same weapon on another ship as well: Sell it!
The weapon is now available in stock as a "buy back". But it remains in stock after the first transaction.
You can buy it back, and then buy them for the other ship too. As many of them as you'd like.

I'm not sure if this qualifies as a true exploit or not. I mean, I didn't get anything for free. I paid real credits for these weapons.
But I did get weapons that would otherwise not be available.
It works for internals and utensils too.
Basically, any module, utility or weapon that you already own on one ship, you can also buy and fit to your other ships.

Minor exploit i'd say.. it only spares you some fuel and time, but i really think people should stop posting exploits in this forum, you should delete your post

This is as designed, anything you sell off a ship can be bought back, as long as you don't leave the station :)

Why do you even think it is an exploit? May be it is just a valid way to have some of your old equipment on your new ship? Seems pretty reasonable to me.

This is working as intended.

It's so you can buy your equipment back if you accidentally sell it, or if you buy something that doesn't work well on your ship, you can buy back your old load out.

If you leave the station it will disappear, so bear that in mind.

I don't think it's working as intended when he sold 2 and could buy back 4. Looks like a bug worth ticketing to me.

I think the OP is mistaken. Buyback does just that and is a feature for moving your loadout between ships. Most stations only offer the basic upgrades so you'd be crazy not to use it.

I think the point the OP is making is that he sold 2 and was able to "buy back" 4, not just the 2 he sold.

I just think of it like moving modules from one ship to another, nothing exploity about it IMO.

It's not an exploit in the normal sense but it changes the expected behavior. If you sell one cannon and the station has non in stock I do not expect to by four of these.

Perhaps I misunderstood. Not that it would make much of a difference, since there is no gain or loss during buying and reselling equipment.

Still, may be a bug if that's the case.

It's a bug. Sometimes you can only buy back the number you sold. Other times you can buyback as many as you want.

I haven't figured out what triggers the unlimited supply yet.

That's not an exploit. Any time you sell an item, you can buy it back if you so change your mind at that time. Once you leave station, you can't come back and re buy it back, but you can right after you sell them.

Wow, it seems like you were the first one to read it completly..

Ofc its not a bug buying your stuff back, but not buying multiple items when you only sold one of the weapons
Did anyone ever have the option to always buy back 10 Weapons when you only sold one? I didnt, seriously..
