Found an interesting critter floating in Earth's orbit.

I think I saw that thing on an episode of Star Trek once I'm thinking it is a HUUUUUGE directional indicator for the huge ship, definitely not what should be happening though lol!

In that screenshot it does look like it could belong to the ship but that's just the way I lined up the shot. It was actually floating some distance away. I think it might have actually been one of the target markers for another ship that didn't disappear when that other ship did - and didn't adjust its relative size when I moved closer to it which is what made it so big.

Where are that ship's markers, then?

Hmm, I guess it could be a marker for that ship. I'm docked near Earth so will check it again next time I'm on. The markers would be quite a distance from the actual ship - when I first noticed it I was between the ship and the marker.

Right, but if it is huge because the ship is huge, it would also be a proportioanlly huge distance from the ship.

Ok, definitely the ships markers but I looked at a different cruiser (same class) and its markers were much closer to the ship. In the case above the marker was 1.6km from the ship.

Quite why anyone would hand a battlecruiser to a totally inexperienced to the point of being ranked "Harmless" captain is another matter
