Found my first Earth-like ...

... but someone beat me to it!!!

PLAA EURK PM-M D7-8

I mean the chances of finding one are pretty slim so for two people to stumble across the same one ... ???

Oh well, I'm having fun either way so I guess I'll just keep plodding on ...

Fly safe o7

That's been my plan all along.

I don't head for tourist spots, which is all the more annoying!!

Ho, hum.

Yup - found my first undiscovered one today (or at least I hope it is undiscovered, exploration is still bugged IMO - systems with no discovery tags may still have been explored). Good feeling. On my way to Sag A* :)

About a week ago, after maybe two hours exploring I found my first undiscovered system that also had an earth like with water-based life. Boy was I proud of myself. Yesterday, I found a (already discovered) water world with ammonia and water based life, ammonia atmosphere and candidate for terraforming. :D This is the kind of stuff that draws me to exploring the great black. Off the water world I made something like 150k credits alone. :)

Cheers all of you exploring the black!-CMDR Kbear

I found my first earth like today in the FLOARPS region of space....no tags from everyone so I hope when I get back to spacedock I'll get the first discovery tag.

On this trip to the core iv so far found 3 earthlikes, but still a long way to go. 1 has already been tagged, but 2 were unexplored, though by the time i get back & sell the data, they may well have been 'cashed in'

Finding lots of waterworlds on this trip

Congratulations Commander! The first is always the most fun! It's too bad about the tag, but... there are plenty more out there.

My current trip through the Perseus Arm has popped up more Ammonia Worlds than ELWs which is... odd. Just one of the quirks of randomness I guess.

I've traveld upwards of 4000 LY, visited nearly a thousand systems, discovered dozens of water worlds, countless terraformable metals, even a handful of Amonia worlds, but have yet to see a single ELW.

Congrats to everybody who has.

Just found one in the system I am in. 2 stars, but the second one had a planet with a little spec of blue in a sea of black. Over 40K ls, a journey I would not normally do, but with that potential prize, I just made sure my joystick was centred properly, and went off to make a cuppa. An E-L it was, and the next one out was a water world. Over 430 systems into this journey that is only the third E-L on the trip, though there have been 40 or so water worlds, and about the same number of Neutron Stars. Have seen a couple of Black holes far enough off my route to not bother, but would be good to find more.

This is the stuff that makes you go "oh, just one more system", and then suddenly it is 2am.

I've come across a few on my travels. Soem unclaimed others tagged by another CMDR but either way I love to see them. Just wish the aliens would stop turning of the lights as I'm about to fly past the darkside, hehehe :D

I'm making my way to Sagittarius A*, currently choking on course plotting about 6,000ly away, and I've found I think 5 Earth Likes so far; the latest at Star System no.1002 on the way. But I've wandered over and Detailed Scanned anything that looked watery... I've discovered an Earth Like that has indigenous life which is wrecking it's own atmosphere ("far from chemical equilibrium as a result") and a wonderful system with 2 Earth likes and an Ammonia world orbiting between 2 stars... none of which have been discovered as yet, but I'm too scared to say where they are in case someone gets them before I grind my way to Sag and back, sigh. Still, all I can suggest is keep on scanning and they'll turn up for you eventually too.

I've found loads! A good rule of thumb is that they occur near to each other, so look for similar stars and haveva butcher's there.

Like HIP 64714. It's one of the furthest "Up" stations I've found, but the system doesn't have any first discovered tags. I scanned it as I was passing through, but didn't get any discovered notices. Didn't get any saleable data, and it still doesn't have any tags. There were several others I passed through on the way, but that's the only one I made a note of (since it was the last one).

I did find a system with 105 objects, and got first discoverer credit there. Plenty of water worlds, but not any earth-like worlds yet. I'm only up to about 500 systems visited though.

Keep at it!
Once you get around 1000ly out you generally find a lot more that's untagged.
The rest is just luck :)

I try to make hops of between 5 and 15 jumps and take in as many systems as possible once I hit about 2000ly out.
Aim for systems with 3 or 4 stars for my short hop final target.
I've found 2 E-L worlds so far and a lot more water and terraformable - all mostly undiscovered and within 2500ly of sol.
Of course on other trips out I've found nowt but rocks and balls of ice.

Exploring is the most rewarding career path (obviously not in terms of credits earned!)

I'm about 2k lying out and found dozens of water world's lots of them terraformable a couple of ammonia and countless metal worlds.

I was convinced I found my first elw just the other day and travelled. 174k ls and it was a water world :(. Was still a good system 5x waterworlds 2x rich metal all terraformable so hopefully I get the tag when I get home.

Having lots of fun though

I had something just like this. I went a distance more than I would normally only to find a water world. A few jumps later I found BLU THUA GX-S C4-2 4, my first earth-like. I just got back to sell my data so I can post the name. Ranked up to Pathfinder too.

That's what life does. The natural level of oxygen in our atmosphere is close to zero - oxygen is very reactive. It is as high as it is because of life - in this case plants through photosynthesis.

Indeed. That period in Earth's history is sometimes known as the Oxygen Catastrophe because the rise of plants, with these O2 spewing ways, made the planet deadly to the lifeforms that were here before them.

I'm bringing back 17 undiscovered ELP's so far, one is actually the moon of another planet. I'm not done searching (want 20 before I return).
Always worried I'll stay out too long, but so far my discoveries haven't been thwarted by another.
