Found my first undiscovered Earth Like World last night. And a question

Well, it is my first ELW seen outside the bubble period. I am about 8000LY out currently in the darker space between two spiral arms, hoping the closest nebula has at least one system with a small outpost where I can restock and repair my hull and power plant.

In general do most of the more popular nebulae have at least one system with an outpost close by?

Nope. that far out you're on your own. Unless you're on the Colonia Highway. There's a few stop offs on the way there. otherwise it's back home or bust.

There isn't one at or near Eta Carina; that North-Eastern quadrant is probably the least developed in terms of known outposts and bases. Your nearest is the Morgan's Rock asteroid base, in the NGC 6188 Sector, but it's 7000 LYs away from Eta Carina Sector - so you'd have to travel almost all the way back to the Bubble anyhow.

Thank you for the information. Oh well. I’m not going back yet, this trip is basically just starting. My plan is to go up about 600 LY from the nebula, then travel coreward to the next spiral arm and look around there. After that, who knows?

Or back toward the bubble, the Seagull Nebula is probably the nearest one with a Shipyard, if that matters.

The good news is that 7-8 kly isn't that huge of a number in the grand scheme of things. It's funny how your sense of scale evolves over time. The first time I traveled 6kly outside of the bubble, it felt like I was out in the middle of nowhere. Now, anywhere within 10kly of a base (any base), and I feel like I'm within a stone's throw of repairs if I need it. :D
