Found this on TPB and I know some of the game is clientside but thought majority was serverside. If it is a fake shows how gullible some people can be.

I think it's a little unfair to call people gullible for thinking it may be a real torrent. After all, you do ask in your title "is it possible?".
Perhaps they integrated a sort of virtual server-side background simulation or something.

LOL. Yup. They know ED so well. Must be a crack of the "offline edition".

Doubt it. It takes a long time to emulate a server, since you've got to reverse engineering the whole dang thing from scratch. It could be a repack of before offline mode was taken out? I'm not sure how offline mode used to work, though. Could be fun for experimenting.

It's known that there are pirate versions of Elite Dangerous out there to download. I am certain Frontier know about them, what you can do to stop them is another matter and probably impossible to completely stop.

"Support the developers, buy the game" on a torrent for downloading a cracked version is a contradiction and only there to make the uploader look good.

I pretty sure that the convention for video game forums is that you don't draw attention to pirated copies of the client on said forums, functional or not.

TPB was brought back without any of the old moderator team or any sort of torrent verification whatsoever. Ergo, all of the new torrents on there are unverified and probably aren't exactly what you'd call "clean." There's also some suspicion of them pulling a silk road 2.0, so best to use another torrent site for your ....ahem.... needs.

Dear oh dear - Not possible - for starters CMDRS have a unique ID given to them on purchase.

No ID no game - Simples

Same goes for the credit hack - total baloney as transactions happen at the server not the client.

Anyone stupid enough to download and run these deserve what they get.

That said, I have just won the lottery in kazakstan and I'm sending them all my personal details and £500 to cover admin! I'm RICH!!

Hey, nobody ever died of having mining malware or DDoS clients while being the proxy for hackers.

It's not like he is linking to it, and anyone interested in pirating games needs to type merely: "elite dangerous torrent" into google. Should I now be punished for stating the obvious?

I don't use torrents, but I know people who only buy games after they tested it. That's how it works when companies no longer provide demos and release unfinished games (not talking about ED here).

My brother gave me his (original) copy of The Witcher when I had no money, but I bought it twice later.

Hey that Nigerian with his inheritance contacted me first. Send him a million adn i get 2 back. Perfectly legit. Only question is, how should i report it on my taxes?

The only version on Torrent I've found is the Demo version (Combat Tutorial) and the comments state there's no offline way to play it. I suspect TPB could be the same (1.5gb dl)

If common sense isn't obvious by now ... OP, report the torrent to Frontier, send them a link to it and let them handle it.
