Found this out in the black thought it was worth sharing!

Borg Attack! Red Alert! All Hands On Battle Stations!

When you almost got an heart attack with this one, I urge you NOT to try Elite in VR. The first time I dropped THROUGH a star just to face a white dwarf afterwards was my most shocking moment in Elite: Dangerous.😁

LOL, yeah there are some odd rendering effects if it drops you inside the star, or super close to the surface. Always makes for a good "brown pants" moment. ;) :D

Holy crap... That'd give me more than just a "mini" heart attack... I'm surprised that this is even survivable... Crazy!

I thought dropping inside a star wasn't supposed to be possible in current versions anymore.. I've only jumped through stars before and I sincerely hope what I can see in that video of yours never happens to me!!

I haven't see that for a while. I thought it had been prevented by dropping you further away when two stars are close together

Yeah, whatever algorithm the game uses to determine if you are dropping into a close binary and thus should be put a distance away occasionally breaks. Not only have I flown right through stars before, but also the opposite - sometimes it'll drop me out several hundred ls away from the star when it's a single, non-binary star.

This happened to me 50 jumps out of Beagle Point. Gets me every time it has happened, especially after traveling so far. It was a binary star system and I jumped into the star. I joked after thinking "man, don't see that very often probably won't see it for another 1000 jumps!" (I reassured myself).

The next system was a trinary star system! Certainly keeps me on my toes. I think in maybe 100kly it's happened to me 2 or 3 times then I got two in a row... !

Wait. You guys regulary see cubic stars? I've been to nearly 60,000 systems and I've never encounted a cubic star.
I'm quite envious.
