... just remember how DB said somewhere that Elite will upscale its graphics along with increasing CPU/GPU power. So, expect that one day, Elite will look similar to the pictures you just posted.
The previous entries in the Alien saga clouds my judgement, so I can't appreciate Prometheus on a proper level. But i know beauty when I see it. Thank the heavens for that.
Well, Earth is in space too, isn't it?I knew palm trees grew in space..i knew it!
Yes, that is absolutely amazing. Especially when you're taking into account that you're actually 'looking back in time'. I've always loved watching the night sky, I even was a volunteer at a local astronomy station here - they had amazing telescopes that were awesome for watching planets, nebula and other things.
Related, I had the same thing when I re-watched Prometheus last night. I am one of those people that really love that film, and I think the visuals in that movie are absolutely astounding, especially the 'space' and other exploration shots. Frontier has really gotten the atmosphere and 'mood' right in Elite: Dangerous. Playing the game makes me want to see sci-fi movies, and watching sci-fi movies makes me want to play the game!
Exploring the galaxy is going to be *fun*.
