Yep. They steal your money. Although their prices seem to be 10% lower, they are in fact not.
I had 20,5 million in current assets; my Type-6 was sold for 3,1m (~300k usual 10% sell loss) and I had 17m cash. I just bought my Type-7 there, which should cost 15,7m.

I was told to buy the Type-7 for 12,6m (15,7m - 3,1m) of my 17m cash, so I should have 4,4m left. I did not realize it immediately, but I only bought 2x 64 Racks, 1x 16 Racks and 2x 4 Racks costing around 700k. FSD for 500k, Thruster 150k, Power Dist. 150k. Sums up to 1,5m. I should have left 2,9m. In fact I only have a little less than 1,3m cash now. The difference is exactly the 10% I should have saved when buying the Type-7. (Note that the values are rounded)

Funnily enough my current assets are 20,2m (300k sell loss), but either I paid the full ship price or I should have more cash, otherwise it makes no sense. I hope you can follow my calculation. Am I missing something or should I ticket it in as a bug?

Raise a tickt its a known bug...although still waiting on my refund.

ticket it and specifically ask for reimbursement. chances are once you sell your L7, you will only get back based on 90% price!


they reimbursed people who's cargo price wasn't given them due to bug. so they should reimburse this too!

Feel your pain. I have also raised a ticket as well.

I have been testing out ships and thought the best place to do this was in the Founders World. I hadn't initially noticed it being bugged out until I ran the numbers again. The first time I bought an Asp and fitted it out for Trading I had enough to buy all parts I needed and have more than 3mil to spare. I haven't done anything else but change the ship to a full outfitted Type 6 for some comparison and bought an Eagle. I did 4 hours worth of trading with both ships. I have just decided to stick with the Asp for trading, so, went to buy again and outfit... only to find out I have lost out.

Correct me if I am wrong here... If I sell all the mods I purchased and downgrade them to factory setting parts... the ship should still retain its purchase value? I'm just trying to work out what exactly has happened. Confused isn't the word. All this post has confused me even more
