Founder's World Name Lore?

Just curious where the name "Founder's World" comes from according to canon/lore - I was told it was after the Kickstarter backers, that they were "Founders" and that's why they and Elite get access.

From reading the Wiki it implies that it's because of the founding of the Elite Pilot's Federation - is that the case? Or is there some other reason?

There's a tourist beacon there explaining it, I think.
It's got to do with the game lore, not kickstarter. Long story very short, Commander Jameson was the original Elite, in the original Elite. So, they built a station in his name and named the planet it revolves around Founders World.

Odd names in games really have no issue getting lore, in this case just the founders of the pilots federation?

In the original game, you were "Commander Jameson". The station and the Founders planet have their roots there.

The system was named by Liqua who paid for the privilege during the Kickstarter.

Shinrarta Dezhra meaning.

First I didn't want to use real words in case someone just Googled it and spoiled the "mystery"

"Shinrarta Dezhra" is an amalgamation of Russian and Arabic: "Life, she saw, hope"

Words used were:
  • Russian (zhizn' [жизнь] meaning "Life")
  • Arabic (ra'at [رات] meaning "she saw")
  • Russian (nadezhda [надежда] meaning "Hope")

Thus "Zhizn ra'at Nadezhda" became "Shinrarta Dezhra"

I have put this in Elite Dangerous: Premonition as a little lore aside. Hope folks like it.

Cheers,

Drew.

Not all the Kickstarter backers are founders, i backed £200 which got me access to all content forever, access to the founders system and some starting bonuses and slightly cheaper insurance (as i've only started once and have only died 7 times I think there's no need to get to excited about those!) but I didn't back enough to become a founder, they got extra stuff on top of what i did. :)

Odd, you should be. The founders level was at £150 so anything above from the Kickstarter campaign should be a founder.

Im unsure if players received founder status if a player backed after the ks was over when FD where selling alpha through their own store.

I backed at same level in the ks campaign and have the nice silver founders decals. Link to original rewards:
