It's a different system called Shinrarta Dezhra. Those who backed ED on Kickstarter have access to the system, those who backed to a certain level can start in this system. Others will have to earn rep/get a permit to get to the system.

People who bought the game even outside of KS has access to it, not sure if it's intended or not, but for example everyone who had bought the Beta access package from the store has access to it. Not sure if it's supposed to be this way or not.

It was part of the alpha package at least.

Here's me thinking the "Founders" were just KS backers huh ;) If it's any different (such as store purchases of alpha/beta) then I stand corrected ;)

The founders system is a bit of a safe haven for "The Elite", where you can (or should be able to) buy weapons, trade etc a bit cheaper than other places.

are you sure? i thought it was ONLY a KS reward, for pledges of 150GBP or above and had never been offered anywhere else, could be wrong, but i can't remember it being offered on any of the subsequent alpha, beta access offers.

I bought ED when Beta 1 hit and I have a permit to the Founders world. So I can confirm it myself.

Well I got alpha from their store. And it's in my list of rewards on the backers site ;)
