FOV Problem with CV1

Does anyone else have a problem when turning your head the image gets squeezed on the far sides? Kind of like having a high FOV fish eye effect but in game settings I have FOV at zero.

I cannot find where to adjust this and it's just one of those things that drives me crazy every time I turn around and look at the cockpit. Some might not notice this as it's on the far edges of the FOV but to me it's very noticeable.

I haven't seen it in any other VR game. I understand the edges of the Oculus CV1 are blurry when looking directly at them but it seems like the image is somehow wider towards the outer edges.

Hmm, I don't get that effect.

The CV1 doesn't use the FOV setting in the ED options. But near the left edge of the left eye, and the right edge of the right eye, the Rift renders only in mono (ie there is an earea off to the left and right that is not rendered in stereo). Perhaps you're noticing this... which might indicate your IPD measurement is out (the green cross calibration screen in the oculus settings, changed using the little slider under the right eye).

Try slightly different IPD settings and see if the effect goes away. Could also be an early problem, where the more you use it, the less it bothers you... or the other way round.
Also, try playing around with the placement of the Rift - make sure when looking straight ahead and level, you are looking into the proper sweet-spot in the centre of the lenses etc.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I'm always looking at the sweet spot when looking around. Like if I turn around inside my Clipper, the whole view seems to have a fish eye effect as the parts of the cockpit are coming into view. It makes it really uncomfortable to stand up and look around.

I measured my IPD and it was very close to the left most setting and I haven't had a problem with any other game like Minecrift etc. I've used it extensively since early 2016 so not really a new thing.

I will try changing the IPD again inside the game to see if it makes a difference but last time I tried that it made my eyes hurt instantly and made the view completely seperate.

Yup, noticed the same. Slight slight graphic distortion (stretched) when moving head and looking with eyes ate edge of screen in rift.

Its very minor and nor a problem at all.
