Fps controller

So I've got a setup I'm happy with now (ive gone with 2 joysticks), and now I'm thinking about how things are going to work when we can walk around outside of the ship.

Am I going to have to revert to keyboard and mouse for the fps mode, or maybe buy an xbox controller as well?

With my setup as it is I already feel kind of like this...

What is everyone else with hotas/multiple joysticks planning on doing for this mode?

Personally I think FD should be including an 8 port USB hub in the price of the game! :)

It's a bit too early to work out how to control an add-on that might not be available for another year!

Lol, I was thinking yesterday that I need a new USB Hub! I'll be using standard keyboard and mouse FPS controls, provided that they are available. Anything else will feel clunky.

Hopefully with an option to disable TrackIR once in FPS mode. (I find it weird in fps games)

Valid point Commander.

If Elite: Dangerous incorporates FPS gameplay, I will be using an xbox360 controller for that.

By the time of game release I hope to have this:

Saitek X-55 HOTAS
Keyboard and Logitech G700 mouse.
Oculus Rift
A M-audio Keystation Pro 88 and two piano sustain pedals IF i can figure out how to emulate keyboard and joy input from midi devices (almost there). I want to be the first person to play Elite Dangerous using a piano.

Something like GlovePie might assist?

Hi yes I have GlovePIE, Midi Yoke and Midi-Ox. I've almost figured it out. I posted about it in the support forum to see if anyone else was trying this kind of thing or had been fully successful already. might make a thread about it in general.

wireless kb/m that lies on my couch is specifically for galaxy map/comms/fps, all flying is done by hotas, ED require very crazy setup, as you will need to walk around, drive vehicles (maybe i will need to throw in the middle of my flight chair a steering wheel!?!?!), actually i hope FD will make driving as real as possible and not arcade style, then really would be fantastic just to take a day off from space and just drive around some crazy looking planet in a vehicle together with friends.... ;)
