FPS Drop

First my system..

POWER SUPPLY: 500W PSU
AMD CPU: AMD Bulldozer FX-6 Core 6300 3.50Ghz (4.1Ghz Turbo)
AMD BOARD: GIGABYTE 970A-DS3 With AMD 970 Chipset
RAM....: 16GB DDR3 1600Mhz
GRAPHICS CARD: AMD Radeon R9 270X 2GB

Been playing ED since premium beta without any problems and with graphic settings all on high. I normally get 59.9 FPS constantly throughout my gaming session but recently I have been having drops to around 29.9-34.5 FPS.

These drops normally happen when there is a lot going on, e.g. when docked or flying near a station. I've also been getting little freezes for a fraction of a second every now and then but getting more common.

What is causing this to happen, how can I rectify it, if its been discussed already, my apologies I couldn't find the thread and I'm pretty new to PC gaming as moved over from console gaming.

Any constructive advice would be most welcome.

Don't have a solution but I have the same problem on a lower spec machine. Regular FPS drops for no apparent reason. I've seen others with the same complaint and think it may be quite common.

It may be networking related, there's a lot of debug stuff still switched on with the networking.

FD recently changed something on the server side see http://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=36550 which might have caused it. You may wish to contribute to that thread or open a ticket.
