Okay!...I was just writing/typing a reply in this topic, and before I realised it I had a great wall of text before me.

So, I scrapped that and decided to try and 'condense' my thoughts to a few lines.
In the game 'Hardwar' (some people may have noticed that I liked that game very much

) a player could hire a 'taxi' to get about from one area to another in the game. It was basically 'Hire a taxi', wait awhile, board the taxi which arrived at your hanger, and then travel to your (desired) destination.
Your main ship/s were left at the players hangar, the taxi was controlled by the game, so you just clicked a menu to board it, and 'virtually' sat back and watched the game world go by (I think it was in real time). you could theoretically have one ship docked at one place and another ship in some other hangar.
Anyway....

....the point being is that using this kind of feature down on a planet space port it might alleviate (for a time) the need for first person body movement on certain planets?
It's fairly obvious that a feature like this could be expanded upon. Substitute the space port for the hangar, substitute the FPBM for the 'taxi' (or fast shuttle), now you have a mobile pilot who can visit individual places, in a city, interesting places and I would think even individual npc's in other 'areas'...(maybe even other players?), and no 'walking' involved!
I would hazard a guess that the developers here might have already thought of something similar for the initial planet release maybe.
I mean...you can't just go and land your Cobra M111 down in Trafalgar Square can you!.....Oh!...you CAN?
