I have a full tank***

How long has this been a thing? And why is it a thing? Ive been playing since July and not had this? And had this ship for weeks with same identical loadout for the last billion jumps ive made, plus why would my ship plot a route in couldn't do..... Uhh??? so many questions

Cmdr nagual solved it! Thanks and have some rep

"Did you by any chance plot the route to a station not a system? I think there may be gremlins in the plotting doodaa, but can't be certain. I noticed the other day I tried to plot for a station but got hit with the same message as you did. Changed it for the system and all was well."

Did you pick up some cargo? It means you can't jump that distance anymore. RE-Plot your route. You are heavier then you were when you ploted it.

Either you plotted the course then took on cargo, or it's a bug.

This^. I do it when I plot a course before accepting the BB mission. The cargo is not in my hold when I plot. Most times it doesn't affect the jump, but occasionally I have to re-plot and it's fine.

No cargo , full tank ... Standard for me as I dock as I finish playing every day ... Just a odd thing I guess

This.... I did plot a route to a planet not a system come to think of it

I've had this sometimes if I plot before refuelling, or sometimes if plotting during travel with a half empty tank and then scooping at a star. That little extra mass really makes a difference sometimes

Did you buy any heavier modules after plotting route?
Or, refuel after plotting route?
Or, did you not notice the millennium falcon hiding on your rear quarter?

Normally means you don't have enough fuel to make jump has happened to me a few times. Look at your plot line on map if dotted line you don't have fuel to make it if solid line your good to go.

Jump exceeds fuel use usually means the jump would require more fuel than you're allowed to use in a SINGLE jump. The (larger) and better your Frame Shift Drive the more fuel you're allowed to expend in a single jump. Remember, more fuel is used towards the max capable range and jumps under half max range are very fuel efficient. The increased fuel cost rises very sharply close to max range. Odds are you did something that increased your total mass after you plotted your jump path.
