I was wondering while jumping along in deep space....What is the maximum temperature you can engage the jump drive. On my striped out Asp it is 38 deg any more and it gets the hump.
What configuration?Infinite on a dolphin...
Any. Just that above certain tresholds, various things start to happen - but your ship doesn't actually start to take damage until 100% (oh, and it's %, not °C or any other easily recognizable temeprature scale). At that percentage, frrom the colour, your ship's heat vents are around 1300°C.I was wondering while jumping along in deep space....What is the maximum temperature you can engage the jump drive. Yes. It's sparks and smoke above 80%, minor module damage above 100% and major damage (including hull itself) above 150%You don't actually take damage at that level though do you? You get sparks and steam / smoke but there is nothing to repair until about 150% iirc.
Holy smoke!actually it's 812,000 (in words: eight hundred and twelve thousand) % is survivable.

Switch off all the modules that you don't need for travelling. that includes the power distributor and shields. Basically only have thrusters, sensors, life support, FSD, fuel scoop and sensors on.. You can save 50% of your power, which will reduce heat by a similar amount and make fuel scooping and jumping easy.I was wondering while jumping along in deep space....What is the maximum temperature you can engage the jump drive. With the FSS it’s not a problem to switch off your sensors as well, unless I’m missing something obvious. Of course, you need to remember to switch them back on when you arrive in a populated system and attempt to dock - something I’ve never forgotten to do, obviouslySwitch off all the modules that you don't need for travelling. that includes the power distributor and shields. Three accounts, each with triple Elite. One was only using a Sidewinder, for which FD gave me a special gold paint job.Don‘t want to derail, but I’ve always wondered. What does triple triple Elite mean? Is that across three accounts or account resets? I don’t think I could ever go for combat Elite again and I doubt it will come from normal gameplay for me.
So that was you that golden Sidewinder I saw the other day!Three accounts, each with triple Elite. One was only using a Sidewinder, for which FD gave me a special gold paint job.
Bow down in my presence:So that was you that golden Sidewinder I saw the other day!
Just kidding, I have never seen a golden Sidewinder, because I think it is not possible to reach triple Elite only and exclusively using a Sidewinder...
Just kidding kidding... If you did achieve that, you are my hero...![]()
I was hoping my poke would provoke you to give me the full story... Thank you, I will read the entire thread...Bow down in my presence:
Triple Elite in a Sidewinder
Has anybody else achieved it or am the first? There can't be many other nutters out there, sureley? I was surprised at the low amount of repairs cost considering that I was flying shieldless most of the time and I seemed to lose 5% of my hull every time I landed. I got blown up 4 times plus one...forums.frontier.co.uk
