Newcomer / Intro Frame shift Wake scanner - is that the rarest equipment in ED?!

OK, jumping like rabbit for 1.5 hours between stations, following websites breadcrumbs..and not luck! This is getting ridiculous to a point I don't want to start the game anymore.

@Fdevs - how am I supposed to play the game by aim and purpose if your RNG acts like crap?! Pointless button mashing and drifting;no time for such crap when I'm on quest. [mad][mad]:x

Anyone seen this piece of junk lately? Any hints where I can find it?

Got eddb.io and click on stations. Enter in the scanner on the modules and reference system where you are. Look for an entry with an update this week and low ref ly number.

The main reason people have trouble finding a module in the outfitting store is that they select the wrong thing on the left-hand panel.

I suspect that you have not selected a Utility mount to buy something for. A Wake Scanner fits to a utility mount - it needs to be bound to a fire-group, hardpoints must be deployed and it's fire button must be held to complete the scan.

They are as common as muck.

Please don't blame the game for your mistakes, the game has it's faults but many perceived so are just misunderstandings.

Yeap, 2 hours drifting around, travelled 150LY to find out it's not Universe, not Internet, not even RNG. It's that some scanners are not scanners, but utility mounts. Great, my mistake indeed. Could be worse though - some devs might have decided put them into fuel tanks group. :x

Hi, I'm not sure of your location but 1 place to keep a note of is Ray Gateway in Hi-Tech system Diaguandri. They usually have almost everything in stock, including a large number of ships. And because it's controlled by Li Yong-Rui it's all at 15% off! So worth the journey when you don't have access to Jameson Memorial.

Just started playing recently and am trying to upgrade the engineers as well. I couldn't find wake scanners anywhere and never knew they were hardpoint equipment options. Thanks to those who helped!
