Frame skipping in RES

Can somebody help with an issue I have. Everything works fine for normal playing, but when I'm RES farming, if I stay in the RES for two long (like 3 hours) it starts frame skipping during the dogfights, but as soon as the enemy ship explodes, it goes back to normal. The longer I stay, the worse it gets, sometimes skipping even between the dogfights. There's no problem at all for the first couple of hours, so it can'y be that my PC isn't powerful enough. It's like memory is leaking or some vital resource is getting filled up. If I leave the RES and comeback, like when cashing in bounties, it seems to reset. It's an i7 with 16gb RAM and GTX 90. My other PC with a GTX1080 does it occasionally too.

Sorry for duplicating what I wrote in another thread, but I didn't get any answers there maybe because the thread was exhausted.

This bug has been an issue on and off since 2014. I haven't personally encountered it in a while, but I haven't spent much time in CZs or RESes recently.

There were a few settings changes that seemed to mitigate issues in the past, but they weren't universally successful and I'm not sure if they would help with the precise problem you're experiencing.

If you could capture the issue on video and provide full system (hardware and relevant software) specs, that might help.

Thanks. I'm not to sure it would capture properly and show itself as it is. When it starts, it's like playing on a pc that has insufficient graphics capability. First of all, it just skips a few individual frames, so you see a bit of stuttering, but it gets worse and worse to the point that the game is completely unplayable under normal circumstances, except that my ship has all turrets, so it can carry on without me. Even though I can hardly point my ship towards the enemy, I still see it's hull go down a few more percent each time I see it, as it jumps from in front of me to behind me in one frame. It seems to be related to laser fire because it does it when the police are shooting too. The moment the ship pops, the gunfire stops and everything goes smooth again most of the time, though occasionally the skipping comes and goes even without firing.

I'm wondering if it's some sort of memory issue that comes when a working file gets too big due to the amount of info it has to hold about all the ships I've blown up in one play session because it always resets back to normal when I dock. The only thing against that is that after it's started, there are spells when it gets better for a short while, then starts up again.

32gb here, I get the same thing sometimes.

Sounds like less of a bug and more of a Cobra shortcoming.
