franchise animal storage limit

am I the only one who feels like, immensely restricted by the 50 animal limit?

I have a LOT of franchise zoos, and I often move animals back and forth. sometimes I close zoos, sometimes I open new ones, sometimes I change my mind about a zoo and redo it, sometimes I redo a few habitats not just one, etc. sometimes I have a breeding project I'm trying to juggle. I'm constantly struggling to figure out how to move my animals around. in the end I had to make a storage zoo where I'm keeping like 60 of them in quarantines, and they're all upset about it for good reason. not only that, it gets buggy. I've had at least 5 instances of my staff getting "stuck in queue" when the quarantine isn't full, and then my animal is hard to recover

I don't understand why the limit exists in the first place or why we can't change it, or why it doesn't get bigger the more zoos you own

I consider it a serious problem that needs to be fixed

I feel that at least it should be unique for each zoo you own, so having one big zoo with spares does not hamper you in making a new zoo somewhere else with foci on completely different animals.

I think it was performance issues. Don't know where these issues happened, user/local or dev/server.

It's not connected to your zoo but to your online account/profile/franchise - timer keeps ticking when you place animals on the market.

Yeah, I really do wish there was a higher limit. I'm just realized I'm going to actually have to figure out what to do with some of my animals in storage if I want to have room to get any of the new ones. I mean, I know I had plans for them...at one point....mostly to introduce a new male or female to an existing habitat to avoid inbreeding. But of course now I've got like 4 male Bengal tigers (more than I have in all my actual zoos!) and I don't know which is for which anymore. :ROFLMAO:

(I should note, that's the worst case example. For some reason when I see a decent and cheap-ish Bengal tiger, I buy it. Clearly I don't really need to, but I do none the less. I can't help myself!)

Yes I always assumed it was this and to stop people hoarding the animals and not maintaining the market.

I've kinda learnt to cope with it now and it does make me sell more. I still think it is bit limiting. I have 3 franchise zoos at the moment two of which are really at max size for decent performance. If I open another with different species I'm not sure how 50 slots will work.

For performance maybe they could consider a separate storage unit which might be limited to the zoo you are currently in and have a fixed number of slots. It would also make it easier to sort out which animals you wish to trade and wouldn't limit the no. of franchises you can have.

The in-game lore could be that an animal in storage was lent to another collection (the building being the breeding records store) so the one you get back is a direct descendent.

Not sure they'd do this for one mode though. Will be interesting to see if performance has improved after the update in which case they could offer options to increase storage.

I guess I could see the performance thing, but I'd still like it to be bigger none the less. or like you suggested, a separate storage.

with how the game performs, you can't really make a bunch of full sized zoos to keep your animals, not even storage ones. the game chugs past so many habitats. so if I wanna play franchise, which I do because I like it most, am I supposed to just be restricted to like 3ish zoos in order to be able to still use my trading center efficiently?

I think the worst issue is when I recently tried a breeding project and the trading center got so full so fast. it wasn't like I wasn't releasing or trading animals- people weren't buying them fast enough (or at all honestly, despite charging the cheapest on the market without being ridiculous), and I had quite a few I needed to keep set aside to keep fresh bloodlines

it's just rough when the gameplay suggests you need something and then doesn't give you it. you have inbreeding to watch out for, so you need animals. there's a market for animals, and not all of them are good for YOUR animal. so if you get the right animal, it's not often at the time you need it, so you need to store it. but you don't want it aging, it's a waste of money. so you have to have something like the trading center. or, you want to trade off your animals. you make more credits trading them on the center in some cases, so you need to store them in the center. what if you're buying animals in advance for a new habitat? you need to store them in the center. it goes on and on, and in the long run is not sustainable when you have more than one decent sized zoo, let alone more than like 3 or 4 like I do

and if the problem is if pz doesn't like the idea of us holding animals indefinitely in some sort of fantasty stasis where they never age or die, then well, they shouldn't have given it to us in the first place? lol

At least before they updated it so you can't store more than 50 at once - before that you could actually store more by selecting them in a different way and pressing store. The limit is ridiculous, several species have options for many females for example, and you then need to save many of the females you breed, for the bloodlines. Only you can't get rid of them before the parents grow old and you replace the male. . .
