Here I'll be showing some pictures of my Franchise Park in progress. I've been working since release occassionaly. This is the result so far in chronological order of build.
Entrance Area
Just a fairly simple entrance area. Started off with both exhibits to start by hosting some small animals. The Ghanese Tiger Snail and the Goliath Beetle.
I also had to build my first facilites. All facility buildings are kept simple with bricks. Easy to spot. This is the only one in plain sight of the guests.
First Habitat: Aardvarks
Also in a very simple style and due to lack of research at that moment. A small but simple Aardvark habitat, just to lure in more guests. This habitat will need to make way in the future for better pathing and expansions. They will return in their Continent Area.
Warthogs
Easy animal for start. Also a simple habitat in the entrance area.
Red Panda
Such fantastic animals deserve a nice habitat. Gave them my first real natural habitat with some terrain work and a moat between the guests and the animals. Also a rock hide out.
Overview Entrance Area
Overview of the current state of the entrance area.
Nile Monitor
The next animal to enter the zoo are the Nile Monitors. They also got a moat and also fences of course.
Reptile House
The first 2 exhibits at the entrance area are some nice starters for the guests arriving. But with the New World research completed, I was able to build something larger with 6 new exhibits housing several additional species.
Classic Style Food Plaza & Peacack walkthrough habitat
During the development of my zoo, I soon started planning a large food plaza. I wanted to build that in a somewhat classic style.
This plaza will eventually also act as a hub between several continent styled regions. I added a peacock habitat because I wanted to fill up the void before the guests would enter the
Africa themed area.
Cheetahs
The first large habitat that was planned in the Africa area was a Cheetah habitat. A large habitat surrounded by rocks and a walkway that is on elevated terrain and gives a good top down view on the Cheetahs, that walkway would also play a roll in the very large Savannah habitat. A toilet is added on top of the walkway to help the guests when needed.
Savannah
At this point I made a terrible disaster. I went AFK for about 1,5 hours, thinking I had paused the game. Not only was that a mistake, that in most cases would see a typical zoo running fine. And though my animals where fine, besides some small crowding issues. When I came back, it had to sunk in a little bit, but I was -500.000 in debt. I closed my zoo, there where no guests.
.
Re-opened my zoo, let the game run for about 3 hours, came back every now and then to sell some animals that where overnumbered. But in the end thankfully was able to restore all the mess, and continue this project. Which turns out to be my best so far compared to some things I build in Planet Coaster.
Large African Lookout Building & Gorilla habitat (unfinished).
A large African lookout is constructed to house 2 shops and give a great extra view for the Savannah and th Gorilla Jungle that is emerging right next to it. But due to high prices not yet able to afford them. The habitat is still largely empty.
Lemur walkabout
While waiting still for the Gorilla's I spend my time making this Lemur walkabout. Plenty of climbing space and a first floor resting area. All within the boundaries of keeping the animal inside.
Overview
And a complete overview of the park.
I tend to pause the game when constructing buildings. While during habitat building I generally have the game running at normal pace.
I have my exhibit animals on contraceptives, I restock them when needed. Some species give me so much offspring, it's way to much of a handfull to keep control of it. And rebuying isn't that much of a deal, these animals are cheap.
All other animals are easier to handle. The 7-species Savannah habitat needs some extra eyes now and then, as the animals are already closing the limit of the space available 3400m2 needed, 3900m2 available.
One of the main things I do is have facilities central in between multiple habitats and have them out of guests view. Depending on the habitats the larger the building for facilties. As I have the reptile building, I have a lot of that in the main facility building, as the 6 exhibits (total of 8) requires a lot of maintenance. But I still have enough room to build more additional habitats around it.
I need to redesign the main entrance area, because I need more ways to expand the guest flow, as certain areas get pretty crowded already.
Thanks for reading. I enjoy the game very much and I hope you enjoyed this first view of my Franchise Zoo.
